B&TF: Why is it guilty? Unless it’s with somebody else.
HP: I’m Catholic, I was brought up Catholic. It meant to be a guilty pleasure, but now it’s not. I like to drink, and that’s about it.
B&TF: And my last question. Many European actors come to Hollywood and get cast in the movies. Did you ever think about going to Hollywood?
HP: I did go out there and then I got a call back for “Waking the Dead”, which was one of the biggest BBC dramas.
B&TF: Really? Cool.
HP: No, no, there’s a really bad ending to the story. I’ve got down to the last two and I had to read with Trevor Eve, who was the star in it. And I’ve only just got to L.A. and booked for like four weeks to be out there and I saved up all the money. They were like, “You have to come back to England to do the last re-call now.” So obviously I rebooked the flight, it cost me like two grand, went back to England, didn’t get the job and then didn’t have the money to come back out. So I had all the means to open everything else and it didn’t happen. That’s how it is. Ups and downs of the career.
