B&TF: You have really great songs on the first season.
HP: They are all unsigned bands because it costs a lot of money to use a signed donor. They used unsigned bands but, for example we had a band called “Mumford and Sons” playing a track and they weren’t signed when we filmed the series, of course. By the time the series went out they became like the next biggest thing in the UK. So there was “Mumford and Sons” track on it but they had to pull it.
B&TF: Some of your characters, like in “London’s Burning”, are strong characters. I haven’t watched that one yet but I did see “The Chase”.
HP: You watched “The Chase”?
B&TF: Yes, I found season one in my public library.
HP: It was such a cool series.
B&TF: It was cool and I wanted to talk about it later. So, in “London’s Burning” you were playing a firefighter and there was another drama where you played a similar role.

HP: Yes, it was the SAS, the special army service, elite of the British army.
B&TF: Do you enjoy playing this type of strong characters?
HP: I think because I keep myself physically fit, I don’t mind getting down and dirty and cold and wet, and all that stuff that goes with it. I really like to challenge myself and I think after doing “London’s Burning” you get a reputation and I guess, people think, “Heather will do anything”. I do like to challenge myself and be as good as the boys. I’ve always been that girl who wants to be as good as the boys, physically. So, one action role led to another. I tend to play detectives, or army or fire brigade.
B&TF: Except for “The Chase”.
HP: Except for “The Chase”. Well, “The Chase” came completely out of the blue. The writer came and she had never seen anything I’ve been in. She’s a very, very famous writer here. She’s done some of the best TV dramas. Thankfully, she’s never seen me in anything because I don’t think she even would have seen me for that role because I’d become typecast by that point. Sometimes I’ve sit with people who’ve seen “The Chase” and don’t even realize I was in it, which says I’ve done my job. It means that they don’t recognize me when they meet me because hopefully, as all actors, I’ve been someone completely different. I was a single mother. I was really feminine in it.

FYI… Ruta Gedmintas is yet another wonderful LITHUANIAN! :-)
Great interview :) Thanks. She’s funny and a interesting person. I hope one day she’ll see all my posts with her ;)
