SITUATIONS FIVE – Shane
The coffee machine spluttered into life – Shane lent against the kitchen sink and waited – hoping the caffeine would kick some life into her. She felt lost – correction – she felt more lost than usual. Shay’s departure had left a void in her life that she didn’t know what could ever replace. In her room there were a couple of grams of coke and a fair bit of grass. They had been there since last Saturday when she had bumped into a friend of hers in the 7/11 and he’d sold her the stuff for a knock down price because he was down on his luck. The drugs didn’t work anymore – she knew the high they promised was not worth the cost of the low that they also represented.
She waited until the coffee maker finished brewing the delicious brew and poured a cup – she drank it as hot as she could – not caring about her brain telling her that she shouldn’t be drinking anything that was still steaming the way her coffee was. The coffee brought her to life enough for her to go and sit outside and have a cigarette and her second cup. She was just considering having her third cigarette of the morning when the white sedan pulled up – Paige and Jared got out and she smiled. Paige smiled at her – they both knew that their brief affair was coming to a natural halt – Paige wanted someone to care for her and Shane could not be that person. Shane liked her and the sex had been great – she had actually enjoyed waking up with the same woman – it had reminded her of ….
“What’s happening with you two?”
“Well it’s a certain young man’s birthday next week so I am going shopping – I was wondering if you could amuse him for a few hours “
“Yeah – that would be fine – I’ve got a few days off work this week – you want to hang out mate?”
“You bet – can we play on your Play station?”
Jared ran into the house to get the games console fixed up – leaving them alone.
“How have things been with you? “
“Okay- what about you? “

It’s a small, small world. That’s a whole lot of happy endings for one story. Still having difficulty wrapping my head around Shane drinking a Dr. Pepper, though.
If only Carmen would come back to the show. The woman that plays Paige on the show has her own show, “Painkiler Jane” as the leading character on the SciFi channel- or something like that. I wonder if she is coming back next season? Anyway, glad Shane stayed clear of the drugs and that Carmen & Shay were on the other side of the door. Henry & Paige what an interesting pair!

I hope IC reads this… season 5 – the Jo/Ally version… now that would be something. Paige and Henry… I can definately see that. Shane and Carmen well that’s a given… And I KNOW you would create the perfect and hilarious TiBette reunion. Maybe Jodi and Marina could hook up… Hmmm… Well, this is fun. Thank you!

YEAH Carmen!!! Ok I loved Carmen and Shane together. Don’t get me wrong, Paige is beautiful, but she’s no Carmen! I often think that Shane is the character that has shown the most growth since season 1. I’d like to see it pay off and have her try again with Carmen on the show with her new found desire to have a family. Thanks Guys..this was great!
