    Chapter 28

     

     

    Tina watched as Jenny’s taxi drove away – she looked across at Alice

     

    “God that was awful “ she said

     

    “I know – I think it was better when she was throwing things around “

     

    “I know “

     

    “Jenny can come out with some pretty withering one liners “

     

    “I know – I was on the receiving end of a few when she started shooting and she was coming up against me all the time “

     

    “You didn’t slap her ?”

     

    “I am famed on the set for keeping my cool but it was a struggle. I would go to the gym and just wear myself out because it was the only way that got the frustration out”

     

    “Thought Brenda helped “

     

    Tina chuckled

     

     

    “I could have killed you that day in the gym when you let on to Bette “

     

    “Yeah but what happened next was interesting “

     

    Tina raised an eyebrow in question

     

    “Really ?”

     

    “Bette thumped the boxing pad really hard- Jodie went crazy. That had to show that Bette still cared for you “

     

     

    “I had been giving her signals for weeks and she’d been ignoring them – she can be dense “

     

     

    They were both silent for several seconds

     

     

    “You want to go and see how Shane is ?”

     

     

    “She took a verbal beating “ Tina said “ Is she going to want to see us ?”

    “No “

     

    Alice turned to the house

     

     

    “Alice – what were you talking about when you started saying that Tasha has changed – are you getting cold feet about the two of you ?”

     

     

    She smiled “ You are getting like Porter sometimes Tina “

     

     

    “Alice – you are our friend – we want you to be happy “

     

     

    Alice toyed with telling Tina what was on her mind – but she shook her head

     

     

    “Its okay – we had an argument that’s all. Nothing serious “

     

    “Alice ?”

     

    “When I am ready I’ll come and talk to both of you “

    2. AllyE, you always amaze with the way you write “our girls.” Your dialogue for them is oh so perfect and so relaxed. They are simply in very close conversation with each other and it shows. It is so easy with them and so loving toward each other. Little kisses, hand squeezes and embraces, so natural and you show it all. Simply beautiful and wonderful. Hope Shane gets her act together and hopefully she does not take herself to the brink of destruction with the drugs and alcohol. Maybe Bette or Tina will be able to find Carmen and bring her back to Shane. Wonderful story and wonderful chapter. Post when you can.

    5. I hope that Bette can find Carmen and talk her into coming back to Shane, it would be good for both of them. It’s GREAT to see the Kennard-Porter family in such a good place. PPS :o).

    7. Hello AllyEmmerson, I am loving the new and fresh posts of this terrific tale. Fabulouis characteristation and humor in their wise words. Good to have Tina and Alice trying to shake Shane out of her doldrums. At least this provided Alice with an excuse to ignore her attraction to Clea. Good to know that Tina felt somethng was off with Alice. Then Bette and Tina show the wonders of a true and loving partnership as they converse and share their days and opinions. Just so precious that everything that they have been through has made them stronger and more open. I just adore your talent for dialogue. Perfection in words. Many thanks from Your Loyal Fan.

    8. Hey,every group of friends has the one or ones that holds them all together. Bette has always been the main lead, and Tina has been the calming influence. DAmn they do make a perfect couple. Love Angie with brushing the hair.

    9. What the heck will straighten Shane out. Everyone has tried talking to her,reasoning with her but non of it seems to sink in. Let’s see what Bette can do with Carmen.
