In the meantime, Sam had stood and walked over to where Dana was waiting. She had a little grin on her lips as she watched Dana watch Alice — the girl had it bad. Sam thought these two might be able to make a real go of it if they gave themselves the chance.
Those last remaining shreds of jealously came together when Dana noticed Sam standing near her. She gave the older guard a harsh look. It was as much as she felt she could get away with without being insubordinate. But she wanted to make sure the other woman knew Alice was taken.
It was one of the rare times that Sam would ever smile at one of the junior guards. “Don’t worry, Fairbanks. She’s all yours. Just don’t mess it up.” Sam’s face grew serious as she leaned closer to the young guard. “And don’t hurt her or you will answer to me.”
“I would do anything I could to make sure she is never hurt.” Dana said with a deadly serious expression.
Sam moved away and another rare smile came to Sam’s face as she nodded and headed towards the door. “Good to hear. See you around, Fairbanks.” Dana watched as the older guard left — thinking about what was said. She was so absorbed in the recent conversation that she missed that Alice had come back from the locker room.
“You OK Dane?” Alice could feel the weird vibe and wanted to make sure Dana was not having a problem with Sam. “Sam is just stepping back in as my sparring partner until you get better…”
“As long as that is the only place she is stepping in.” Dana said with a sultry smile as she bent down to give Alice a passionate kiss.
When they finally broke for air and Alice got her wits about her, she said “You have no worries in that department, Dana. I am more than willing to wait until you are better.”
Dana gave her goofy grin. “Cool. Ummm… You ready to go for that walk?”
“I sure am.” Dana could tell that Alice was holding something back.
“Don’t worry, Alice. Slow and steady. I am going to be careful not to do anything else to impede my recovery.” She gave Alice another kiss that was full of promise. “It’s important for me to get better as soon as I can.”

Hey MaGoose! I’ve been a silent fan of this story from the start. Anyways, I felt like I needed to take a moment to leave a quick comment. Anyone who knows me and reads my fics knows that i’m a diehard tibetter but I have to admit, Your stories and your writing style have captivated me. Thanks for sharing your story with us. And, as always, I shall be waiting impatiently for another update!
WooHooo! I come home from a LONNNNG freaking day and my lil buddy, QoG posted, soo excited. I’ll post soon enough..when it isnt summer anymore!!!! Damnit, Dana is jealous, Alice is being..overprotective..when are they going to get all of this sorted out? I’m glad Sam is around to keep everyone in check and Alice is keeping such a good handle on the freaking B, Gabby. Mohave Desert?! LoL Hopefully they are stuck on camel duty or something. A was smart enough to bring Sam in to work out some of her bottled up stress. I am also very pleased to see A discuss D’s situation if she were to return to her previous position. It was great to have Sam as such an honest, dedicated employee. I have to agree that Mohave Desert was a fine choice for Gabby. lol. Love AJ’s comment on it. And finally, a very jealous Dana! Not so cool in this case. I keep forgetting how young they were. I guess she would learn to keep her cool. Thank goodness Sam had her best interest at heart. Excellent job again Thank you, MaGoose.
