    A Second Chance at Forever

"You can stay if you want," Tina stroked Angie’s hair as her head rested on the pillow beside hers. "Even if you don’t want to read."

Angie nodded, setting her books down on the floor. It was lights off and a silent, restful few moments before they were all sleeping soundly, content in the picture that was being created of a newly reformed family.

    Chapter 25

All three slept until the alarm went off at 6:30 the next morning. Bette quickly silenced the music and rose to prepare for the day.

"She can sleep ’til 7:30," Bette said to Tina quietly. "I’ll get breakfast started while you shower."

Tina looked over at Angie, holding a single finger up towards Bette to keep her from leaving the room yet. Once she was sure Angie had fallen back to sleep, she made a suggestion.

"Shower with me," Tina said. She went on to adopt a more somber tone. "Strictly in the interest of time efficiency and water conservation, of course."

Bette reached to take her hand as Tina moved across the expanse of the king size bed to get up.

"I don’t know how much longer I’m going to be able to keep up this pace," Bette said.

"I’m serious," Tina said. "I’m past the point of wanting sex at every opportunity, but we’ll save time if we shower together."

    "Just shower?" Bette asked.

"That’s it," Tina shrugged. "I have to work sometime…"

They were behind the closed door of the master bath before they disrobed to continue preparing for their respective days.

    *********

Bette reached to turn off the water. She couldn’t recall a shower that had been quite so invigorating. It had predictably evolved into more than just getting clean after all, despite Tina’s assurance of an innocent encounter. Take two women, remove clothing, add arousal and sudsy water…what did they expect?

"Are you still going home tonight after work?" she asked Tina.

"I have to," Tina replied. "I’ve got laundry piling up, and because I’m taking tomorrow afternoon off, I need to finish up a few work projects."

    1. That was so sweet! Excellent story, jks. I thoroughly enjoyed it, I’m really pleased you came back and I hope you have another some time soon. Thank you! :)

    2. 🐠 just keep writing 😉 and posting. Don’t care about what they think. I love it and so the other readers who will leave their comments after us. Thank you 😘

    3. Please do not let one or two people stop you from writting. This was a wonderful and loving story thank you so much for it. Just love Angie!!! Thank you again and PPS

    4. Sorry to see this story end! Hope you have another up your sleeve. I enjoyed this story very much, and I suspect those people who interfere with the rating haven’t even read the story, they just don’t like Tibette. So as you suggest, they don’t have to read it. They should just grow up.

    5. Thanks for the awesome story about our favorite couple. To those who don’t like them then don’t read the stories. For me, they give me hope and faith that as humans we can do what’s right and do better for each other. Second chances are deserved if growth has been made from the mistakes of the past.

    6. i am also sorry to see this story end… loved every word and esp loved the ending… thank you for the time and energy you put inot this story… hoping you come back with another… maybe a little brother or sister for angie… :)… thanks again

    7. Wow! Awesome story! I was totally surprised by the ending. I loved this story and think you’re one of the best writers on this site. Please don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. I hope you continue to write and bring us another story soon. I’ll be here waiting to read it. Thanks JKS!! :)

    8. Fantastic chapter. Love this story Swimmie and really hate to see it end. Don’t worry about naysayers and low- raters, they’ll go away. Just keep writing and the rest of us will keep reading. Really liked the ending, just wish it wasn’t. Thanks for the time devoted to writing a loving and sweet story about “our girls” and little Angie. And I’m happy they kept it to themselves until the end. Don’t know if your brain is tired or what but it would be lovely to get an epilogue or a sequel, or just another story period. Take a rest and take care of yourself and family. Thanks for sharing.

    9. I hope to see another story from you soon! The flow of your stories is always truly magical. Speaking of those who have nothing better to do than “diss” stories while hiding behind their keyboards… what to say!? Obviously in some demented, warped, childish way it makes them feel more secure by “shooting” stars off of other authors. Here’s an idea for those people – You write the story and then have some immature aholes without the balls to write comments screw with your story!

    10. Sheez, some people’s kids… BEHAVE would ya? Hey ya Swimmie! I for one enjoyed your story (my first JKS experience) immensely and you have become one of my “new faves”. I appreciate your take on the challenges T&B would face in exploring and giving each other a second chance. It would have been easy to romanticize their journey – the fact that you gave a dose of reality to it, and wrote it so well and convincingly, speaks to your talents as a writer. I want to second Dainty’s request AND Jaciee1’s rating. Thanks so much for sharing your time and talent and I hope to “see” you more often :) Your new fan -iHH.

    11. Thanks JKS for amazing and sweet story!! 😊👍👍👍 it’s an ending that I wish not being posted this soon ;-) as I hope there will be more chapters in between :-p … But maybe this can be meant that you can work on the next installment?!? ;-) hehehe… Pardon my greediness :-p but still… In conclusion: brava!!! 👏😁👏😊👏😄

    12. It’s always sad for me when a wonderfully written story comes to an end. Though I am in agreement with lodeerca. I think a certain “shower” chapter is missing! You are a terrific writer. I always enjoy your storylines. I will look forward to reading anything you post, cause I know it will be a fantastic read. I hope you already have a new story in the works for us. Thank you for sharing your talent!

    13. Thank you for this happy reconnection story! I love that they get to be together every day as a family in this story. I have really enjoyed this! Please think about coming back with another story soon.

    14. I loved this story. I started reading it, went back to read all your previous stories and just caught up. You’re a gifted writer and I hope to see another story from you soon. Thanks!

    15. What a lovely ending to a delightful, well-written story. BRAVA, jks! =) I’m a sucker for hopeful stories or endings and this one definitely fits the bill. I love your version of Angie to bits. She seems wise beyond her years but deep inside she’s still a little girl who must have been shocked and overjoyed by her divorced parents’ reunion. I was touched by the tremble of her voice during her heartwarming “speech”. It reminded me of the quiver in her voice when she expressed her fear that one of her parents might be going away. I guess Dana wanted to spare Angie from hearing her moms’ nighttime cries, thus the sleepover. ;> Thanks a lot for writing and sharing this lovely story, jks! Hope your muse will keep you inspired to write and share again someday soon. I wish you and your loved ones more love, joy, good health and blessings. Cheers, jks! =)

    16. I’m not crying – you’re crying. I’m hoping to get a version of this in the new show even thought Angie is much older. This was a beautiful story. Thanks for sharing it.
