“Ashley! Take 30.”

I heard Mario say. I simply nodded my head in started for the employee’s room. My feet were killing me I had been hear all day. Wheres hear you ask? Hear is a small store I work at called Mario’s Department Store. I had been working at Mario’s for about a year and a couple of months but this was the first I had ever worked eight straight days.  Last week Mario fired three of my friends for not showing up. We are on Christmas Break, I guess they decided they would take one from not only school but work. Now they don’t have a job to take a break from. Mario asked me if I wanted to peck up the extra hours I need the money so I said yes. So that brings me here working extra hours at a under staffed department store.

I open the employee’s room and take a seat on the end of one of the new couches Mario just put in the room the other day. I was in such a rush to seat down I didn’t even notice AJ laid out asleep on the couch across from me. AJ is one of my supervisor’s. His only 25 but Mario’s his uncle so the Job was a given. Me in him don’t get alone that well. Everyone else is cool but AJ just goes out of his way to mess with me. He’s the one person I try to avoid when I come to work.  As I try to get comfortable on the couch I pry he doesn’t wake up before my break is over. 

My eyes couldn’t been closed for more then five minutes when the door flies open in and Annie one my other co-worker’s rush over and shake AJ awake. He opens his eyes in glares at her. “What the hell do you want!?”

“The new girl is here and Mario said for you to show her around.  She starts tomorrow.”

AJ sets up straight and glares at me before speaking. “Send her in here.” Annie turns and leaves the room I guess to get this new girl. AJ stands up and starts to stretch when the door opens and in walks a girl bundled in jackets with nothing but her head showing. AJ looks her up and down then smiles and extends his hand out to her. “I’m AJ head Supervisor.”

She reaches out and shakes his hand. “Spencer Carlin.” She takes her hand back with a smile and says “Nice to meet you.” Then she finally looks in my direction and we lock eyes and I see how butiful she is. She has shoulder length blond hair and blue eyed. Are eye contact is broken by AJ asking her if she would like to take her coat and put it in her locker.

She looks at him and smile. “Yeah, that would be good.”

“Ok then Spencer follow me.” They head out of the door but not before she gives me one more smile.

After they leave I look at my watch and see that my break is almost over. So I say forget it and head back out to my cash register thinking about the beautiful girl with a beautiful smile.
