Los Angeles Breeds Forbidden Love
Chapter Three: Every Pane Of Broken Glass
“Sarah?” Spencer uttered groggily from her spot on the hospital bed, her eyes not opening although she did shift her head to the side. A moment later her lids flew open and she took in a sharp breath, her surroundings unfamiliar and confusing. It didn’t take her long to recognize she was in the hospital, at which point she tried to piece together why.
Her head felt thick and sluggish, and trying to pull back her memories was nearly impossible. It took her a few seconds to recall that Sarah was gone, and a full minute for her to recollect the photo and note. But, try as she may, she couldn’t figure out what the hell happened that landed her here. The last thing she could remember was Glen showing up at her house, and even that was foggy at best.
Frustrated by the black curtain in her head, Spencer lifted a weak arm to rub her face. She was surprised when she felt a shock of pain in the underside of her wrist when she tried to move her hand. She looked with some concern at the wide gauze bandages on both wrists, frowning in concentration. All of this focus was making her lightheaded, and she could feel her lids beginning to grow heavy. All of her nerves felt so sensitive, even the hairs on her head ached when she slumped back into the pillow. She’d figure out what was wrong later, right now sleep was once again beckoning.
“Ms. Carlin? Ms. Carlin?” The nurse spoke, squeezing Spencer’s shoulder lightly in an effort to wake the girl. Spencer was reluctant to open her eyes but did so anyways, the bright light of the room making her head swim.
“I’m sorry to wake you Ms. Carlin, but we have to change your bandages.” The woman explained when she received a very startled stare from Spencer. The blonde pulled away from her a bit, eyeing the woman carefully.
“Why am I here? What happened to me?” She probed, still withholding her wrists from the female nurse, who gave her a uncertain look. “How long have I been here for?” She added as an afterthought, her pale face making the blue in her eyes stand out even more so than usual.

Glen’s being really great.. well obviously, but still. It’s not that easy going through what he did, and he came out of it like a champ.

great job…PMS!
This story is so eloquently written I can actually feel every nuance of emotions in Spencer and Glen’s hearts. The funeral should be eventful, especially if Ashley’s there. I love this story…PMS
