    A Vampire's Lament – (Chapter: 6-Epic)

    A Vampire’s Lament
    Chapter 6: Epic

"You will never understand cause it happens too fast.
And it feels so good, it’s like walking on glass…"
    -Faith No More

I’d been driving around with a hostage in my passenger seat for hours now. It sounds completely inappropriate but I only did it for the greater good. Spencer is truly afraid of me, I’m sure of it because I can feel the fear pounding against her chest.

This wasn’t a good idea to begin with but those goddamn immortals freaked her out! I had to reveal my history and I did it while I drove her around for hours non-stop.

Last time I checked, we were in the city of Glendale but I eventually turned around and now we’re somewhere by Santa Monica.

"Please…take me home, I can’t deal with this anymore…" Spencer Carlin sobbed, covering her face with her hands. She’d been in this terrified state hours ago, when we entered that fate-altering chapel. Fuck. If I hadn’t been so curious about the scream, we wouldn’t be in this situation but now I have to settle with being Spencer’s evil captor.

"Spencer, please don’t be afraid of me. If I had wanted to hurt you, I would have done it a long time ago." I reassure her, reaching out to hold her hand. She pushed my hand away, wiping her constantly flowing tears. I felt so guilty for this outcome but what was I supposed to say?

I told her the truth and the truth was one of the most important things I’ve ever held dearly in my heart. Now, because of my entire being, I was on the brink of losing my friend…if I haven’t done so already.

"What if you already did without my knowing of it? How can I be sure to trust you? You’re a fucking vampire for God’s sakes so how do you think I should act?" Spencer said spitefully, crossing her legs on the leather seat. For the first time, I didn’t know what to say to Spencer Carlin.

My words were lost in a sea of conflict and only silence could express my sorrows. There were only two things I had left to say to her but now the worst I was fearing was this close to suffocating my life. She still doesn’t know about the legend of the goddesses and the night I bit her was the night we first met.
