“I missed you too…” I told her giving him a kiss on the cheek “…hey mom…” I said

“Ashley…” she said my name smiling and pulling me into a hug “…you look all grown up…” she told me

“merry Christmas mom…” I told her then she turned to Spencer’s mom

“it’s good to see you again Christine…” Mrs. Carlin said smiling at her and they gave each other a hug then Spencer’s dad shook Aiden’s hand and gave everyone a hug and we all went back into the living room

Spencer and I sat on the one end of the couch and Spencer’s legs were draped over mine and I let my hands rest on her thigh and knee then her arm was around my shoulder

“Merry Christmas baby…” Spencer whispered into my ear then I looked at her and smiled

“I love you…” I told her kissing her

“do you want us to leave?” we heard Aiden ask and everyone laughed

“sorry…” we both said at the same time making everyone laugh again

Then Kyla was sitting on Aiden’s lap and my mom sitting by both of them

“so why are you two so cuddly tonight?” Kyla asked

“um…” I started smiling at Spencer “…mom, Ky…I proposed to Spencer this morning…” I said then a silence fell then my mom looked at Spencer

“well I hope she said yes…” she said then Spencer showed her, her finger and the ring

“I did…” she said then my mom came over with Kyla and gave us both hugs

“welcome to the family…” my mom said to Spencer

“how could you have not told me you were going to propose!” Kyla exclaimed while hugging me

“I told Aiden I thought he would have told you” I told her and Kyla looked at Aiden

“why didn’t you tell me!” she yelled at him

“I love seeing you surprised…” he said making it up then she went over and punched him in the arm “…um ouch” he said and Spencer and I laughed

The only thing that Ashley was afraid of was her mom’s reaction. Her mom was never really accepting, and she was surprised when her mom accepted the invitation to come to Ohio for Christmas. It’s nice her mom was happy for her, and even if she wasn’t I don’t think it would have been that threatening to Ashley.
