The L Word is Coming Back THIS YEAR!

January 31, 2019 By Jacky 9 Comments

This is surreal – it’s coming back.

8 episodes.

It will premier in 2019!

The series will reunite the original’s stars Jennifer Beals (Bette), Katherine Moennig (Shane), and Leisha Hailey (Alice), who are all also executive producing, “alongside a new generation of self-possessed LGBTQIA characters experiencing love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in L.A.” Newcomer Marja-Lewis Ryan will showrun the series and also executive produce with original creator Ilene Chaiken. “Marja has brought her unique and contemporary vision to The L Word and blended it beautifully into the fabric of Ilene’s groundbreaking series,” Showtime president Gary Levine said. “This revered show was both entertaining and impactful when it originally ran on Showtime, and we are confident that our new version will do that and more in 2019.”

Very disgusting – the fans of the series deserve much more than to have to see TLW without TIBETTE!, They must call the new TV Show with other name.

Considering that LH 99,99% will not be in the cast, i see two scenarios

    1. First variant i might see – new main cast, we will see youn girl with name Angelica Porter-Kennard, who just enrolled in school in LA, CA. Show about her and her friends. Occasionally, like cameo, we will see her aunts – Alice and Shane, and her mama B, who lives in NY with mama T (who always too busy, maybe on the shooting)

    2. Second variant which i’ll not watching – JB a-ka Bette in main cast. Because this only means that they break-up Tibette (they can’t leave main character without love interest during all show)

yeah no. not for me. too old to watch reruns of “new stories” about the younger crowd trying to impress the world with their “new” sense of being gay or lesbian.

besides, Ilene alone is the killer for me. not too crazy of her off the deep end all over map wanting to show all and tell everything at once. nah,i’ll stick with my grey’s anatomy.

I think they’re doing the carrot and stick method. Having ol’ faithful fans and even the newer ones hop on board once we hear of some of the cast returning. I doubt it’ll live up to the hype, sadly. Especially if Laurel isn’t joining. Sometimes things are best left alone.

Excited about the show coming back (I can’t wait to watch it), but hated almost all the characters on it with some exceptions. So why not start fresh? Can we have a fresh start with new castings and hopefully writers who can give us something more realistic than what IC did years ago. IC need to stay away from this project and let us have a win with this new show.

Give me substance, give me genuine stories that doesn’t need to be so outlandish. I can fall in love with simple, normal people. Is that not a story worth telling? Please, keep your morose murder mystery at bay, IC. So many shows with basic premise has shined brighter than the L word because they have heart. The L word took advantage of us and fed us poo because the creators was afraid(…) so they gave us endless drama and lots of sex scenes so that we can forgive their shortcoming, and that was quality, heartfelt writing. Gosh darnit, some of the fanfiction writers can write better than them.

With that said, bring it on, Showtime, learned from the mistakes and keep it real. There is nothing wrong with simplicity. We all fall in love in the most simplistic ways, everyday, not everything need to be in grand gestures. My dog and I look forward to falling in love with you, the second time around. Cheers for the new season.
