Tina noded at Alice and nervously walked over to Bette’s door. Bette heard her getting closer and started to nervously organize things on her desk. Tina turned and stood inside the doorway and quietly said “hey”

Bette: “Tina, come in”

Tina: “ok” came her hesitated reply. She though it was going to be easy to expalin to Bette that what had happened was a mistake. She was going to profess her love for Eric and that would be that. They could just be friends, but when she saw Bette she almost lost her breath. “Im sorry about last night”

Bette: “Are you?”

Tina: “I can’t totally say that I am but it can’t happen again. I have a boyfriend.”

Bette: “I understand” she could see how confused Tina still was, she knew Tina felt something when they kissed. She then realized that being with Tina wasn’t going to be totally impossible. She just needed to give her time to come around. Noone can resist the Porter charm forever.

Tina: “It doesn’t mean we can’t hang out. I find you really interesting and it would be a shame to see a friendship go to waste”

Bette: “I totally agree with you”

Tina: “Friends then?”

Bette: “Friends”

Bette saw Tina just a couple of times within the next couple of weeks. It was starting to wear on her, she had never gone that long without a companion, but she felt Tina was worth it, if she could spend a little more time with her she could show her how great they could be. Tina found herself thinking about Bette more and more everyday, and she was slowly breaking away from Eric. She would recive little notes at work from Bette and thought it was so cute that she kept all of them in a little box under her bed. Finally Tina couldn’t take it anymore so she picked up the phone and called Bette.

Bette: “Bette Porter speaking”

Tina: “Hey”

Bette: “Hey yourself” she said smiling

Tina: “What are you doing tonight?”

Bette: “Um im not sure, Alice said something about going to Milk. You want to come?”

Tina: “Yes” came her quick reply

Bette couldn’t help but smile, Tina was finally startring to come around.

Bette: “Great, how about I pick you up at eight.”

Tina: “Alright”

Tina hung up the phone and took a deep breath. “What are you doing?” she said to herself. She set the phone on the coffee table and ploped onto the couch. She threw her head back and stared at the celing, she was starting to drift off then the phone rang. Tina jumped up in a daze and answered.

Tina: “Hello?”

George: “Word em up!”

Tina: “hey George” she said nonenthuiasticly

George: “What’s going on?”

Tina: “Nothing why?”

George: “Lies, you have never given me such a crappy hello.”

Tina: “Im sorry i’ve just got alot of things on my mind”

George: ‘Aww snap, spill it girl, spill it.”

Tina: “I need to ask you a serious question.”

George: “Alright girl, lay it on me. Im your sister you can ask me anything”

Tina: “Have you ever had feelings for a girl before”

George: “Who told you? News really does travel fast”

Tina: “What? Who told me what? What are you talking about?”

George: “Well I guess I could tell you since your my sister and your cool like that”

Tina: “Tell me what?”

George: “I have a girlfriend Tina”

Tina: “Your *****?”

George: “um I wouldn’t really go as far as saying im *****..yet. Im just kinda you know, going with the flow. Doing what I think feels right. Im just kinda attracted to who im attracted to and I go from there, gender barriers are annoying.”

Tina: “I never thought of it like that. Why wasn’t I as smart as you when I was sixteen?”

George: “Eh it’s a gift. So who’s the girl you like.”

Tina: “Her name is Bette and she’s absolutly beautiful..I can’t believe im saying this”

George: “Why, you feel how you feel and you can’t help that.”

Tina: “Your right, im not going to be scared anymore. Im just going to let whatever happen.”

George: “Word. I hate to cut this short but I gotta go to work, I was just calling to say hi.”

Tina: “Yeah I’ll call you this weekend and we can have another therpy session.”

George: “Deal”

Tina hung up the phone and finally felt at ease. She layed down on the couch and quickly dozed off. All of a sudden she woke up and sat strait up. “what time is it?” she said out loud searching the darkness of her apartment for a clock. “*****, 7:35″ she said looking at her cell phone. She jumped up and ran to the shower and quickly jumped in. She showered as quicly as possible and climbed out as she wraped a towel around her. She was about to go into her room to change when there was a knock at her door. She hurried down the hall to answer it.

Tina: “Bette, Hi.” she said out of breath as she pulled a peice of wet hair off of her face

Bette: “Hi. I like your outfit.”

Tina laughed nervously as she looked down at herself.

Tina: “Sorry im not ready yet, I fell asleep, just give me 5 minutes”

Bette: “Take your time, im early” she said as she sat down on the couch

Tina hurried off into her bed room to get changed. There was something about the way that Bette looked at her that made her feel *****, so tonight she wanted to look *****. She wanted woman to notice her, most of all she wanted Bette to notice her so she opted for the black lowcut tank and black slacks. She felt that it complimented Bette’s fitted white button up shirt perfectly. She put on some light makeup and dried her hair then headed back out to the living room. Bette got up and smiled when she saw Tina.

Bette: “You look amazing”

Tina: “Im just trying to keep pace with you.” she replied picking up her coat. It was much easyer for her to say how she felt after she talked to her sister. She was getting that free feeling that everyone keeps talking about.

They got into Bette’s car and drove to Milk, just as Bette suspected Alice was already there chatting it up at the bar. After a while Kaitlin showed up then Dana. They all decided to move to a table by the dance floor. Everyone was comfortably in conversation and drinks were flowing. Bette crossed her legs and rested her arm on the back of Tina’s chair. Tina was leaning forward talking to Alice when she noticed where Bette’s arm was. She leaned back so that Bette was touching her. Without even flinching Bette bagan to rub small circles on Tina’s back with her thumb. Tina smiled, a few minutes later she excused herself to the bar.

Alice: “Make your move girl” she wispered to Bette.

Bette: “im going to.”

Bette got up and walked onto the dance floor and waited for Tina to return. When Tina got back to the table she noticed Bette was gone. She looked at Alice who pointed towards the dance floor. Tina turned around to find Bette suductivly motioning for her to join her. Tina smiled and didn’t hisitate. The music quickly turned slow.

Bette grabbed Tina’s hand and slowly pulled her in. She guided Tinas arm around her neck and then placed her own hands around Tina’s waist. Tina rested her head on Bette’s sholder breathing in her scent, as they began to sway. In return Bette lightly brushed her lips across Tina’s neck. Tina breathed heavily and lifted her head.

Tina couldn’t control her desire, she looked into Bette’s eyes then brough her hand up to her face. She mvoed her thumb across Bette’s bottom lip, smiled and said “Your so beautiful” then she leaned in and pressed her lips against Bette’s. Bette returned the kiss but not too agressivly. Tina paused for a second, just enough to catch her breath, then she ran her tongue arcross Bette’s bottom lip. She gladly welcomed Tina and opend her mouth allowing Tina to devour her. When they finally parted Tina noticed everyone at the table staring at them. Bette looked over as well and laughed then said “Maybe we should get out of here”
