    With a little help from my friends-Chapter 35

    Tina watched George walk outside then she turned back towards the table. She shrugged she sholders and huffed as she walked out the door herself. George took a few steps and set down her coffee so she could light a cigarette.

    Tina: “What the ***** is your problem, Georgia?” she said as she walked up behindher.

    George turned around and rolled her eyes then quickly threw her cigarette and smothered it as she waived away any smoke.

    George: “Christ Tina” she said taking a step back

    Tina: “Seriously, what’s going on?” she said with a softer voice

    George: “I don’t know, I just kinda feel staganet” she admited in defete

    Tina looked at George with a confused expression

    Tina: “What do you mean?”

    George: “I don’t know..I gotta go though” she said as she dropped her skateboard on the ground

    Tina: “Let’s have dinner later, Bette has a meeting so she wont be home untill late, we’ll have one our sister night thingies” she said nudging her sister “come on, you know you want to” she teased

    George: “Alright, alright. I get off of work around five, i’ll just come over afterwords”

    Tina: “You promise?”

    George: “Ugh, I promise” she said rolling her eyes

    Tina: “Ok, see you late then”

    George: “Alright, peace out girl” she said then jumped on her skateboard and rode away.

    Tina shook her head and turned around to notice Bette, Alice and Dana watching them through the window, they all quickly turned around when they saw Tina looking at them. She headed back inside and made her way to the table.

    Alice: “Where did she go?” she asked with concern

    Tina: “I don’t know, she just said she had to go”

    Bette: “Is she alright?”

    Tina: “I don’t know whats going on with her, she wouldn’t say anything but I did get her to agree to hang out with me later so i’ll talk to her then”

    Alice: “Yeah, well I gotta get going, I actually have some work to be doing” she said as she got up and gathered her things

    Dana: “Yeah, I gotta go too, i’ll walk out with you” it sounded more like a suggestion than a statement.

    Alice: “Ok” she replied cautiously

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    George walked into her room and threw her stuff on the floor, she plopped down in her computer chair and leaned back. George took a moment to look around her room before dropping her head back and allowing herself to think. She enjoyed a breif moment of silence before her phone began to ring. She slowly leaned forward and grabbed her phone off of the bed and looked at the caller id.
    George: “Hi” she answered
    Alice: “Hey” she replied not sure of what to say. “Look im sorry I made fun of you this morning, I really do like the way you dress”
    George: “It’s no big deal, thats just you, being you”
    Alice: ‘Yeah, so uh. Do you want to hang out tonight?”
    George: “Um, Im having dinner with Tina after work, im not sure when i’ll be done and all that so…uh”
    Alice: “Yeah yeah, it’s ok, i’ll uh just talk to you tomorrow or something then”
    George: “Yeah, definatly. I’ll call you.”
    Alice: “Yeah” she replied “I hope so” she said quietly
    George: “ok, then uh I gotta get going, I should have left for work a while ago”
    George hung up her phone and sighed. She leaned back in her chair and looked out the window as her mind started to wonder. She hated feeling the way she did, there was no reason to act so cold to Alice or to snap at her sister. She loved being in L.A. she had finally made it after years of dreaming about it but she couldn’t help but think about what her life was like no longer than a year ago, she was confortably set in her ways, she knew who she was and who she wanted to be and definatly didn’t care what other people thought about her. But now that she is here everything is different, people are constantly judging you and everyone around you has this strange ability to make you envy them for no reason. You watch people twice your age treat every day like its spring break while you sit on the sidelines watching everything in slow motion. She felt so heavy, like she was trapped. George sanpped out of her thoughts and looked at her watch. She quickly changed into jeans and a white tee shirt and headed off to work.
    George didn’t mind her job too much, she wasn’t ready to get a real job but needed to pay the bills. She quietly headed for the kitchen flashing a faint smile towards the waitress’, she dropped her stuff on in the breakroom then put her ipod in her pocket and headed off to the sink. George was midway through her shift when she felt someone tap her on her sholder, she pulled off her headphones and turned around to find her Mike, her boss.
    Mike: “Hey George, how’s it going?”
    George: “Uh, it’s going good”
    Mike: “Great, I wanted to introduce you to our new head chef”
    George looked at the woman standing next to him, she was beautiful, for the first time in a long time she was feeling quite shy.
    Mike: “George this is Lara, Lara, George”
    Lara: “Hi, it’s nice to meet you” she said sweetly as she helt out her hand.
