Tina woke up with Bette’s warm loving arms wraped around her. She took a deep breath a smiled then opened one eye and tried to focas the clock. It was only seven am, she was awake and unable to fall back to sleep. Tina tried to get out of bed without disturbing Bette, but failed, Bette began to whimper as Tina sat up. “Go back to sleep babe” Tina said kissing Bette on the forehead. Bette gathered Tina’s pillow up in her arms and quickly drifted off. Tina made her way down the hallway and into the kitchen. She made a cup of tea and then proceded to read the entire paper. It was now ten in the morning and Bette was still sleeping. Tina began to go stir crazy, she picked up the phone to call Geroge but she didn’t answer. Tina got up and went into the bedroom to change her clothes. She made her way to her car and drove over to George’s apartment.

Tina parked her car and walked up to the door and knocked. After several minutes of no answer she began to think maybe she wasn’t home. She walked back down to the street to leave when she noticed her sisters car parked in front of the house. She turned around and headed back. This time she went around to George’s window. She saw her sister sitting on her bed surounded by papers, she was writing furiously and looked as though she hadn’t slept all night. Tina knocked on the window finally catching George’s attention. George looked over and saw Tina throwing up her arms. “Hello! I’ve been knocking forever”. George got up and walked over. “What do you want?” she said opening the window. “Let me in George” she said angerly. George shut the window and pointed towards the door. Tina made her way around front and entered.

Tina: “What is all this?” she said picking up one of the papers

George: “Nothing, what are you doing here?” she said as she grabbed the paper out of Tina’s hand.

Tina: “Are you writing again? You look like *****, whats going on?”

George didn’t get a chance to answer due to a knock at the door. She rolled her eyes and walked over to answer.

Delivery Man: “HI, Georgia Kennard?”

George: “Yeah” she said slightly confused.

Delivery Man: “Sign here please”

George singned and in return the delivery man handed her a large box. She looked at it with a raised eyebrow and set it aside.

Delivery Man: “Have a nice day”

George: “Yeah..you too” she said shutting the door. “What the ***** is this?” she said looking at the return address. Her eyes widened as she saw the senders name. “It’s from dad!” she said ripping the box open.

Tina: “It must be for your birthday” she said smiling.

George was like a kid at christmas, her dad always got her exactly what she wanted without even knowing it. They had this really werid bond that even Tina couldn’t explain. George loved her dad more than anyone. He truly was daddy’s little girl, in his eyes she was perfect. Inside the box was a guitar case. She found the zipper and opened it. It was a brand new acoustic guitar.

Tina: “It’s beautiful, look there is a card in there”

George set down the guitar and opened the card. She began to read it out loud.

George,

I was shopping for your birthday present the other day not really knowing what to get you when I came across this guitar. I remember you telling me you were in a band up in Seattle and thaught you might need this. It inspired me to break out my old one, maybe next time your around my way we can have a jam session. Happy birthday, love Dad.

Tina: “He always did have remarkable timing” she said picking up another sheet that was laying on the bed. “You haven’t written anything in ages. What’s bothering you George?”

George set down her dad’s card and finally gave into Tina’s interagation.

George: “Im afraid Holly might call me. I don’t know if I can do this again.”

Tina: “I knew it. Calm down and relax, your over it, you’ve moved on. Your happy again remember”

George: “Yeah..but”

Tina: “No buts. Everything is going to be fine, your going to be fine. Don’t think about it”

George: “Uhg your right, why do I do this to myself. I don’t care if she is here or if she calls.”

Tina: “Good girl” she smiled

George: “So what are you doing here anyway?”

Tina: “I was going crazy sitting at home, plus I have something to tell you.”

George: “Oh yeah?” she said with interest

Tina: “I’ve come to inform you that you and Alice can call off your covert operations” she smiled

George stared at Tina with confusion. Tina laughed and held out her hand to reveal her ring that was now back on her finger.

George: “Your shitting me!”

Tina: “No, im not shitting you” she laughed again.

George: “Your back together!” she yelled in excitement.

Just then Alice burst through the door after hearing the news.

Alice: “Your back together! That’s ***** fantastic!” she yelled flailing her arms in the air.

Tina and George were both startled and jumped back.

Tina: “Where the ***** did you come from?” she said catching her breath.

Alice: “I was on my way to The Planet and stopped by to see if Georgie girl here wanted to come with and boy am I glad I did”

George: “Christ Alice you could have given me a heart attack”

Alice: “Oh please stop being dramatic. You have to tell us everything!” she said grabbing onto Tina’s arm.

Tina told them the whole story with a smile on her face. She was finally happy again, her and Bette were back on track and she had her mom to thank.

Alice: “So uh, I hate to bring down the morale here but what are you going to do about satan?”

Tina: “Who!?” she said looking confused.

George: “She means Helena.”

Tina: “Oh yeah, well I guess next time she’s in L.A. i’ll talk to her.”

Alice: “You know, George and I could handle that for you.” she said pounding her fist in her and.

Tina: “No guys, there will be no need for that. It’s like it’s going to break her heart.”

Tina told Alice and George about what happened the last time she saw Helena. This of course infuriated the both of them.

George: “Oh I can’t wait until I see her again”

Tina: “I should get going, Bette is proably wondering where I am.”

They said goodbye and Tina headed home. Somehow she had totally forgotten about dealing with Helena. She figured she might as well get it over with and planned to call her after she got home. Whe she walked in the door the house was still silent. She walked into the bedroom and found Bette still sleeping soundly. She went back into the living room and dug out her cell phone. Bette woke up and heard Tina on the phone. Tina had called Helena but she wasn’t home, she did however talk with Helena’s ex Winnie. Bette had met Winnie once when she visited New York but knew little about the situation. Winnie explained that her and Helena we going through a custody battle and they had a court date next week so she figured that Helena wouldn’t be in L.A. anytime soon. Bette didn’t know exactly what was going on but she got an idea from Tina’s side of the convorsation. She heard the call coming to an end so she climbed out of bed and headed down the hallway. Tina hung up the phone and walked towards the kitchen and glanced over to see Bette dragging her feet up the hall.

Tina: “Morning sleepy head” she said leaning over to kiss Bette on the cheek.

Bette: “Hey” she said as she yawned. “I can’t believe I slept so long”

Tina: “I’d say, I thaught you were hibernating in there” she laughed “I braught you some coffee”

Bette: “Thanks” she said as she reached for the cup. “I thaught I heard you talking to someone” she said taking a sip, trying to be sneaky.

Tina: “Yeah, it was Winnie. Helena’s ex, I think you met her before”

Bette shook her head as she continued drinking her coffee.

Tina: “Helena is apearently trying get her visitation rights taken away. Thoes poor kids, they are so sweet. I think I might go to the hearing, for the kids, plus I kinda feel bad for Winnie. For some reason I think Helena has a trick up her sleeve.”

Bette: “I wouldn’t put it past her” she said sarcasticly.

Tina: “Yeah, anyway. How did you sleep?”

Bette: “Like a baby. Speaking of which” she bent over bring herself eye level to Tina’s belly. “I hope you didn’t keep your mommy up all night”

Tina: “No, we slept just fine” she said as she tamed some of Bette’s curls.

Bette stood up and looked into Tina’s eyes. “Your so beautiful” she said as she put her hands on either side of Tina’s face then gave her a soft kiss. She leaned back and looked at her pregnant lover again.

Bette: “So, does you mom know she’s going to be a grandmother?”
