When the Day Leaves You, 10

Bette stepped onto the sidewalk and extended her hand to Tina. “Ready, my love?” Tina smiled and took Bette’s hand before the two headed up 73rd toward the park. They were enjoying the summer breeze, just strolling along until they reached the entrance.

Tina twirled around in front and gazed at Bette’s face as she walked backwards. Bette was careful not to let her fall, as Tina rubbed at her belly. “Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Like what,” Tina asked in a shy way, which caused Bette to blush. “I don’t know, you’re looking at me different, nice, but different.”

“You’ll never understand what your face does to me,” Tina said, turning back around and staring off into the trees. “So, tell me. What does my face do to you?”

Tina shook her head and smiled, “No way, I’m not telling. That’s for only me to know.”

“Really, well, I’ll tell you, if you tell me,” Bette offered.

Confused, Tina played along, “And just what do you have to tell me?”

“Oh, I don’t know. Just something that’s been on my mind lately, something you’d probably want to know.”

Tina laughed, “Playing hard ball, huh,” and Bette shrugged, “Is there any other way to play?”

“Alright.” Tina stopped under the overpass by the volleyball courts and leaning against the wall, said, “You’re face is so beautiful, that it literally makes me wet just looking at you.”

Bette nervously laughed and taking a step back, said, “Wow, oh my, well, I certainly wasn’t expecting that…”

“So—you’re turn. Come on, Porter, a deal is a deal.”

“Give me a minute, your confession churned the waters a bit here. Oh my god, I think I need to sit down.” Tina laughed, and clapped her hands together. “Very Oscar worthy. Now spill it.”

Bette finally came to a stop directly in front of Tina. She reached out and grabbed her face in her hands. Leaning forward and looking into her eyes, she whispered, “I’m so in love with you, Tina Kennard.”

    1. Are they all getting tested to see if they’d be a match??? It has to be something like that. Anyway, I hope someone’s going to match Tina…because we don’t want you to kill off Tina…remember? Great update…see you tomorrow.

    2. I’m just lovin’ this story. I wonder what the Three Stooges are up to now. lol lol lol I agree with toby, maybe they will all get tested. It would really romantic if Bette actually matched Tina though. PPS

    3. I’m hoping the that someone in the gang is a compatible donor, cos I think if this went all “Autumn in New York” it might actually break my heart. thanks for the chapter, gp. pps

    4. Lovely story.”What we do for love,” especially when it is a love like our girls enjoy. What is our Bette up tp now? Knew she wanted to be tested for a match “made in heaven” but what does motormouth Alice have to do with it? Lovely to see Dana included in this story.Hope we get another chapter very soon, I can hardly wait to see what is going on. PPS

    5. yeah i’m anxious to see what’s potentially law-breaking as well…i’m with ya jp22 on the Autumn in New York – i was thinking that on the last post & Sweet November also came to mind….so girlporter we know reality is that some people don’t make it, but this is fanFIC and it’s Tibette!!! so please make us smile, not cry…well maybe a little crying is ok, but only happy tears ;)
