[Bette is pacing back and forth throughout the house. I havent heard from Tina all day, I better call her.]

[Tinas cell phone is buzzing on the coffee table.]

Alice: (Picking up the phone to see whos calling)Oh *****! Its Bette. What should I do?

Shane: Answer it.

Alice: What should I say?

Shane: Uh, hello would work.

Alice: (Shooting Shane a look)Funny.

Alice: (Answering the phone)Hi.

Bette: (Not realizing Alice answered instead of Tina)Hi baby, Ive missed you today.

Alice: (Deciding to toy with Bette)Hi honey, Ive missed you so much since yesterday.

Bette: (Now realizing its Alice not Tina)Damn it Alice! Wheres Tina?

Alice: (Laughing)Uh, shes tied up at the moment, but Ill have her call you back.

Bette: What do you mean shes tied up?

Alice: Just what I said Porter, now hang up. Shell call you back.

[Tina has now entered the living room.]

Alice: Never mind, here she is. (Handing Tina the phone and mouthing Its Bette.)

Tina: (Smiling and taking the phone and heading back into the bedroom)hey babe, how was your day?

Bette: Good, I missed you. (Pause) What are you doing?

Tina: (Not sure how to answer that)Um, Alice and I were talking.

Bette: Alice said you were tied up.

Tina: Oh, I was, sort of.

Bette: (A little confused)T., is there something youre not telling me?

Tina: (Trying to hide but not really succeeding)No, we were talking but I was out of the room when the phone rang. Thats all, she was just being Alice. (Trying to change the subject)What are you doing?

Bette: Im sitting here missing you. Can I come over?

Tina: (Now very nervous)IumI promised Alice I would hang out with her tonight. Shes been a little down about Dana today. (Not a complete lie, Tina says to herself.)

Bette: Poor Alice, her time will come. Is there anything we can do?

Tina: I dont think so, Im just going to stay here tonight.

Bette: (A little disappointed)Ok, can I see you tomorrow?

Tina: (Trying to hide her excitement)Yes! You couldnt keep me away. Ill call you tomorrow.

Bette: Until then, my love.

Tina: Goodnight Bette, I love you.

Bette: Goodnight T., I love you too.

[Tina comes out of the bedroom.]

Tina: (Addressing the group)That was a close one.

Alice: What did she want?

Tina: Me! She wanted to come over and see me.

Dana: (Smiling)Ah, how sweet.

Alice: Oh *****! What did you tell her?

Tina: I told her to come over and join the party. (Pause) What do you think I told her? (Pause) I told her I was hanging out with you tonight.

Kit: (Interrupting their banter)Tina, what exactly are we doing here anyway?

Tina: (Walking over to the couch to join the girls)Guys, I need your help.

Alice: Spill it TK, whats going on?

Tina: Ok, here goes yall know Bette and I have been back together for a month now

Group: We know!

Tina: (Smiling)Guys!

Alice: Skip the kinky details, just tell us what were doing here.

Tina: Ok, ok, fine. Im ready guys, really ready.

Shane: Ready for what Tina?

Tina: (Taking a deep breath)I want my wife back. I want Bette back completely.

Alice: What are you saying?

Tina: (Pulling something out of her pocket)I want to ask Bette to marry me. To re-marry me.

[Tina opens the jewelry box to reveal a set of rings with three diamonds set in the bands.]

Tina: (Pointing to the rings)Each diamond represents a part of our relationship, the past, the present and the future.

Shane: Wow, Tina! Those must have set you back a lot.

Tina: Since I went back to work, I really havent had anything to spend my money on. Why not spend it on us?

Kit: Thats great Tina.

Shane: Yeah, thats great.

Dana: Ditto, great!

Alice: What do you need us for?

Tina: When Bette proposed to me on the pier, she took my breath away. (Pause) I want to return the favor. She has been so amazing, so attentive, soI cant even tell you. She really has changed and I cant imagine my life without her.

Alice: (Shyly smiling)Are you saying what I think youre saying?

Tina: Yes, I want to ask Bette to marry me on the pier where we were first engaged.

[Everyone is overjoyed and happy, and hugging everyone. When Alice and Dana hugged the rooms attention shifted to them as their hug outlasted everyone else.]

Shane: (Leaning towards Alice and Dana)(clearing her throat)You two can pick this up after we leave.

[The two immediately broke their hug.]

Alice: We were just celebrating Tinas news!

Tina: (Poking some fun)Uh huh, sure Al!

Alice: Tina! We were!

Tina: (Trying to shift the conversation)Anyway, I need your help. I have an assignment for each of you, if youre willing.

Kit: Whatever you need baby girl, well do it.

Tina: If she says yes, I want to marry her right then and there.

Kit: Girl, you know my baby sis will say yes.

Tina: Im counting on it.

Dana: What do you mean right then and there?

Tina: Heres where yall come in. I want to ask her on the bench at the pier, but I want the ceremony near the water.

Alice: (Interrupting)I did this story on people becoming Ordained Ministers on-line. During my research, I did it. (As everyone looks at her like shes crazy) I became an Ordained Minister. I could marry you and Bette.

Shane: (Shocked)Youre a minister? Wow, Im impressed.

Dana: Al, I had no idea.

Alice: (Sliding next to Dana)Theres a lot you dont know, but in time you will.

[Alices statement causes Dana to blush.]

Tina: Thats great Al! It would mean a lot to us. (Turning to Kit)You have the hardest job.

Kit: I had a feeling this was coming.

Tina: I need a couple things from you. (Pause) First, I need you to get Bette to Pier 13 and dressed to the nine.

Kit: I can handle that, but why do I feel that will be the easy part?

Tina: I need you to get Bette to take our rings off her necklace. I have something in mind for them.

Kit: Girl, you know she hasnt taken them off sinceI dont think thatll be possible.

Tina: Well go over the details later.

Tina: (Turning to Dana)Dana, can you and Shane get everything set up?

Dana: No problem, just give us the details.

Tina: Thanks you guys! You dont know how much this means to me. (Pause) We dont have a lot of time so everything must fall into place. And no one (turning to Alice) NO ONE says a word to Bette.

Alice: (Mimicking the motion)These lips are sealed.

Dana: (Poking fun at Alice)This I got to see!

Alice: Dana, Ill show you these lips up close when everyone leaves

Dana: (Embarrassed)Alice!

Kit: (Shifting the conversation)When are you going to fill us in on the details?

Tina: Im meeting Bette tomorrow. Ill call you guys afterwards so we can set the plan in motion.
