What Alice has joined together, let no man … or woman separate

Bette closed the front door to her house with a light click. She did not know why but ever since her operation everything she did, was done with a lightness of touch as if her very near brush with death a few weeks ago had fitted her whole body with sensor pads.
It was like she had become hyper sensitised to everything around her and she was going about her life with an uncharacteristic fragility.
With a groan she staggered over to her kitchen to find something to eat.
She had not got back to work as yet and was slowly but surely losing the will to live, stuck between her four walls.
As beautiful and comfortable and quite frankly serene her house was, she was growing more and more impatient at the reluctance from her doctor to sign her fit for work again and her luxurious surroundings were starting to feel a bit old.
She looked in her fridge which was pitifully bare. Not that she would know what to cook for dinner anyway, she was truly hopeless at any kind of culinary task. She searched her cupboards high and low and stumbled on a box of brightly coloured Lucky Charms.
"Cereals, that will do the job perfectly." she thought and grunted at the pull in her side when she reached up for the box.
"It should take more that just peritonitis to keep Bette Porter down…" She grumbled to herself absentmindedly running her hand across her lower right side and over the fresh scar tissue.
It still hurt sometimes. Possibly because of the fact that she remembered how traumatic the events of 6 weeks ago had been. She was healing well and the pain was probably just in her mind.
She had been feeling unwell for about a week and it all came to a head when she finally spent a whole night being sick, sweat lashing of her entire body because of the spreading infection and doubled up at the waist with the pain which had suddenly shot across her abdomen when the little appendix burst.
The memory made her reach for her right side once again. If it had not been for her friend Tina, she might have ended up passing out on her bathroom floor and being found,  too late, the next day.

    1. That was most enjoyable. Glad that Tina was there to help Bette in her healing and then “with a little help from their friend”, Alice, they enjoyed some “sexual healing”. I so throughly enjoyed this one.

    2. Kins! :-) When I read your AN about the delay of chapter 21, I was a bit disappointed, well … but then I was and am sure that your writing, your story will be something good to read and boy once I read 1st page I was so absorb till I reach page 10 and started to worry that the story was nearer to the end! :-p and what a sweet and lovely story :-) and no matter how annoying Alice, you make me kinda wish maybe it’s worth to have that kind of friend IF she will bring the love of my life to the step of my door :-p LOL… :-D thanks for another great story Kins! :-) I hope I can read chapter 21 before I left my little island for holiday, where I wont have internet connection there for 24/7 … I am sure once I got connection and time there’ll be a lot to catch up btw ;-)

    3. Absolutely wonderful story! C’est ce qui s’appelle un defi releve avec talent, classe et upper elegance!!!… Love Alice’s little push, but something tells me it was just a matter of (little) time before our girls figured things out by themselves… Oh, and I’m seriously concerned about Bette’s scar but I am sure Tina “took care” of her in the most cautious way… Although I’m quite convinced that Bette wouldn’t have minded another peritonisis against a few hours of Tina’s “special care”… I love Tibette beginnings, but I must admit that I also like this from-best-friends-to-lovers thing very much! And you, Kins, did it with perfection (but why am I even surprised?) !!! Thanks for taking the challenge, I don’t mind waiting a bit more for chapter 21 if it means great stand-alones like this one!! Love your work, chere consoeur, love your work!!! RDV in my chapter 21’s comment! K&H, Kw
