    B&T beginning – Chapter 7

    Chapter 7

    The three agents had been outside the FBI’s briefing room for about half an hour when they were invited back inside. Their expectations were high but none of them revealed any trace of any emotion as they walked back in.

    Once they were sitting down and facing the lawyers Bette was the first one to break the silence.

    “Have you decided what you’re going to do?” She asked staring at each of them, one at a time, and finally setting her eyes on that marvelous blonde creature she had grown so fond of.

    “Yes, we have” Peggy replied and made a much needed pause to look one more time at each of the younger lawyers. “We will continue with this process, we won’t be intimidated by these people, not now and not ever. So now we would like to hear what are your plans to keep us alive” She solemnly added and the brunette agent just nodded.

    “Well the first thing is to locate all of you in a safe house” Bette started speaking but got quickly interrupted by Alice.

    “As in all of us living together?”

    “No, unfortunately we cannot let that happen” Bette tried to start explaining again.

    “What do you mean?” Alice quickly added.

    “Alice, please” Peggy intercepted this time and that was enough for the blonde lawyer to close her mouth, at least for the moment. Bette just looked at Peggy with grateful eyes.

    “Look Alice, we’re just gonna tell you what the action plan should be and then we’re gonna figure something out between all of us. Our goal is to for you to stay alive and make it until the end of the trial, but we’re not gonna keep you prisoners and even though we are a team of critical response, you are also a part of this team now. So we’re just gonna tell you what your options are, and then we’ll all try to come up with something, all right?” Bette ever so patiently explained.

    “For the love of god, let the agent speak Al” Helena added, just in case the blonde wasn’t quite getting it.

    “First things first, you surely know what a safe house so let’s get right down to the point” Bette said standing up with a remote control in her hand.

    15. Great update. Can’t decide who is responsible for what is happening but, I do believe that it is someone in one of their offices being paid to feed info to the bad guys. I think the FBI needs to look at whomever has been struggling financially and check their bank accounts and/or look at any positive financial changes in their lives and which have not had a raise at work. Someone would have been paid handsomely for that kind of betrayal. If not for financial gain then it is being done by someone for revenge against Peggy or Helena. Another question; why was Pegys’ husband killed and who killed him? That is something else that Bette should be looking into. Really enjoying the story. Thanks for posting.
