Bette walked into the restaurant and immediately saw her father standing up and smiling. She felt bad about hurting him but she knew she was doing the right thing.
“Hello, Bette.” Melvin said. They hugged.
“Hi, Daddy.” She greeted him.
They sat down.
“Honey, you look and feel different… are you pregnant?” Melvin asked. Bette smiled.
“Yes, I am.” Bette told him.
He smiled proudly. “My second grand-child.”
“No, Dad.” Bette said.
He frowned.
Bette took a deep breath and continued. “I don’t consider you as the grandfather of my baby. No, our baby. When Tina was pregnant you also didn’t want the child to be your grandchild so this one will not be yours either. I won’t allow my child to call you grandfather and I won’t allow you to call him or her grandchild. This conversation is long overdue but I don’t want you to treat Tina badly anymore. We aren’t together but she is still the mother of my unborn child, I care deeply for her and I won’t allow you to continue treat her that way.”
Melvin looked shocked. Was this really his little girl? She had never spoken to him like that. “You can’t decide if that baby is my grandchild or not because if you like it or not, legally and biologically it will be.”
“He or she may be all that but I don’t want our child to have a grandfather who didn’t acknowledge his or her dead brother. I don’t want it.” Bette said. Melvin sighed. Did he really want to miss out on the life of his second grandchild? He always had contact with David but they weren’t really close and he had still missed a lot. Would he act like that with the second one to? Would his pride get in the way again? He decided to put it aside…
“What can I do to let you change your mind?” Melvin asked. Bette was now shocked. Was this man her Dad? Huh?
“Uh… For starters, stop calling Tina, Ms. Kennard. You know her for over 8 years now. I want you to tell her that you are sorry for how you treated her. I just want you to accept that I’m gay and that I will always be gay.”

That was so hot! Seems like an ultrasound always make people horny…lol glad Melvin realized his mistakes and everyone is moving forward. Helena should know she is no competition for Bette. Can’t wait to read more.
