“You will never guess who I bumped into this morning,” Bette spoke into her phone after leaving her morning appointment.
“Well, spill it. Who? “ was Alice’s response.
“Tina.”
“Tina? Like Tina Fey?” Alice remarked, half jokingly. She hated when Bette would assume she knew who or what she was talking about.
“No, Alice. Tina, like Jodi’s old boss, Tina.”
“Get the fuck out!” Alice practically squealed. “Where? When? How? Oh my god, this is so juicy!”
Bette could not help but laugh, “You’re ridiculous, you know that. And it’s not that big of a deal. I saw her while grabbing a cup of coffee this morning, and….”
“And? There’s an ‘and,’” Alice could not contain herself. Bette had been in a relationship with Jodi for so long that Alice had forgotten how much she loved to hear her stories of conquest, which this no doubt was going to be.
“And, I told her we’d meet up for drinks tonight. Nothing serious, to be exact,” Bette reminded herself.
“Oh my god, I can’t believe it. You’re going to hook up with her!” Alice sounded shocked, but in her mind, it was inevitable.
“Alice, I’m not going to ‘hook up with her.’ And who even says that? What are you a teenage girl?” Bette could not help but tease right back.
“Whatever,” Alice ignored the comment, “So where are you guys going? Are you going to make a move on her? This is so fucking crazy!”
“Well I haven’t called her yet, which I’ll get to after a few art gallery stops I need to make this morning. As for making a move, I don’t think so, Al. I think I’m older and wiser now and trying anything with a straight woman is going to just confuse both of us. I will say one thing though, she looked incredibly amazing,” Bette finished, reminding herself of just how sexy Tina looked this morning with her reading glasses on. She had taken them off once they saw one another, but that look would imprint itself on Bette’s mind for the rest of the day.

Is Bette deluding herself? If there is nothing to her “drinks” meet up with Tina, what is there to report to Alice. Don’t read too much into what Tina says Bette, you’re just setting yourself up for failure. Thank you for the awesome post. I’m digging this a lot ✌😉💗💗💗💗💗💗

West 56th St… I love it when Bette and Tina are in NYC. I used to work at W 58th and Broadway. Lots of nice restaurants on 9th, but love that they’re heading downtown to the Village.

It is really refreshing to see a story where “gay” Bette is not pining after “straight” Tina, at least from the very start. Usually they see each other and then BAM! Bette is chasing her all around like lost puppy. This Bette seems so carefree and quite happy with her life.
This is good
