The Story of Shane: The Beginning 13
I was supposed to post this a few days ago but things got away from me. Thanks Ace for reminding me.
The next few will be lighter until I create some drama that is…

The sun rose in the horizon. Shane had never realized how beautiful Philadelphia could be so early in the day. Shane walked and continued on doing so, having really nowhere to go but was enjoying the feeling of being truly free for the first time.
People were slowing waking up to the day, running out to their cars going to their perspective jobs. A man ran back to his house to give his wife a kiss. A woman herded her kids into the car readying for school. Shane walked on.
50th street turned to 40th street. At the intersection with Spruce, the scene changed from one of suburbia to bustling college life. Shane looked around. College students went along with their daily life. They were older but in so many ways Shane had more experienced in life. However, Shane felt a hint of jealousy because she knew that she could never be that carefree.
She watched as some meandered without direction while others ran for dear life. Probably late for class, Shane thought. Others yet walked with each other laughing and talking.
Shane walked through the campus of the University of Pennsylvania maybe. She wasnt sure, but the buildings and the history made an impression. Here was a lifetime of possibility.
Shane walked on.
College-life disappeared behind her as Shane made her way toward the city. The building grew bigger, the traffic got more congested. Shane knew that she would eventually make her way here. After Ron left, Shane found out where she now lived, and here she wasRittenhouse Square. It was one of the most expensive blocks in Philadelphia and now Ron lived there.
Shane sat down in the park, people watching. Even the people here looked different, Shane thought. A few people looked at her oddly, and one could actually see the transformation in Shane. The awe and admiration took a step back, shuttered behind her front. Shanes stance now spoke of confidence, it literally oozed out of every pores in her body. Shane still slouched on the park bench mind you, but she was a force onto herself. Any stares that she got now were one of interest and admiration. Hmm, Shane thought, maybe we are not so different after all.
