    The Roommates: Chapter 20

    Previously~~~~~~~~~

    Bette found herself standing outside of another car, bidding farewell to another woman she loved. She was teary-eyed as she hugged Tina close. I dont know why Im so emotional. Ill see you in like 3 days.

    Tina was teary-eyed as well. Ill blame my emotions on raging pregnancy hormones, she said with a small laugh.

    Bette chuckled. I love you, T. Call me if you need anything at all., said Bette.

    I love you, too. Ill miss you., said Tina.

    Within moments, Bette was watching Tina walk away, hiding her tears behind a pair of black Dolce & Gabana sunglasses. When she could see her no longer, Bette climbed behind the wheel of her car and sped off towards San Diego

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    When Bette walked into the house, it was a little after 9am. The last thirty minutes of her drive had been really taxing. The weeks long nights and Tinas new news had finally taken their toll on the dark-haired beauty. Shed cried for a long time as she drove along the California highway. She cried for Tina and for herself. She cried for the confusion she felt and the uncertainty hanging over her head. Bette Porter was beyond frustration and the dark force of despair was beginning to nip at her resolve. The constant push-pull nature of her relationship with Tina and the pressure she felt in her relationship with Sidney had definitely taken its toll on the caramel-colored beauty.
    With her dark brown eyes still hidden behind her black sunglasses, Bette walked in through the garage and into the kitchen. The house was quiet, but her fathers cars were still in the garage, so she knew he was still home. Bette walked slowly up the beige carpeted steps to the second floor and as she made her way to her room, she passed by her fathers office and caught of glimpse of him as she whizzed by.
    Bette, youre home., he called after her.
    Bette stopped where she stood and walked backwards until she stood in the doorway of the room. Hi, Daddy, she said, trying her best to sound cheerful.
    Melvin stood and stretched out his arms to receive his daughter. Bette sighed to herself, dropped her backpack and overnight bag down on the carpet and walked across the polished wood floor of her fathers office to greet him. As they embraced, Melvin said, Its good to see you, sweetheart.
    1. that’s unfortunate that Bette’s cousins treat her like that…makes me love my cousins all the more. tis ruff being of the mixxedness. Great chapter!
    2. So glad you’re back, been eagerly awaiting this update! ;) Poor Bette, nothing seems to be going right for her…. or Tina for that matter! Can’t wait for the next one!! =0)
    3. I feel Bette’s pain, but come on now. She’s not really being fair to Sidney who has shown her nothing but love and compassion. I know Bette’s not in love with her, rather is in love with Tina, and is just using Sidney to get what she’s not allowing herself to ask from Tina. Why can’t she just accept the love instead of allowing her unresolved feelings turn to resentment? Love the story and am so happy to find a new chapter from you.
    4. What a hard and crazy day for Bette. Well Bette need time to think about her relationship with Sidney and Tina, who would she choose and make her life better. Anyway glad to see you again and please post soon the next one. Thank you! Great chapter!
    5. Happy to see this post but please let Bette wait for Tina don’t let her sleep with Sidney I like her but she is meant to be with Nette..Please post soon Thanks
    6. I’m not sure Bette has the right to resent Tina while she is using Sydney. But then again as someone said here they are only 18. Great story and I always look forward to another chapter.
    7. Sounds like Tina might need to drop out of school and figure her life out.
      Bette needs support to continue with her education and life. Maybe dating isn’t in the cards for either one of them right now.
      Thanks for posting another chapter.
    8. Wow extremely well written. I can understand Bette just wanting Tina to be there for her, its too bad that both of their lives are so hard right now. You explained it really well why Bette reached out to Sidney, but I do feel sorry for her actually because deep down she will always be second in Bette’s heart. However, amazing storytelling and character development and how they think. Great job.
