The Adventures of Bette Porter and Sissee Gardner Schmidt After Tina.
PART TWO: MAUI
Chapter 1
It would take us five and a half hours to fly from LAX to Kahului Airport on Maui. Bette and I were sitting cozy mid-plane in a row of three with me by the window. She leaned toward me to watch the take off, up into and beyond the Los Angeles smog, until nothing but the Pacific Ocean was under us.
It felt good to have her so close, even if it was casual. I never thought I would enjoy the tight fit of airplane seats but I knew I would on this trip. What I especially liked was how comfortable we seemed together. No stiff arms or recoils as we touched. In fact, I thought she was being quite deliberate when we were allowed to unfasten our seat belts and she lifted up the arm rest between us and moved closer to me, away from a heavy set man who occupied the aisle seat.
We had a lot to talk about.
She had called Joyce Wischnia Monday morning from my house. Joyce advised that Bette not try to contact Tina herself, further urging her to let the lawyers work out some sort of temporary visitation rights to Angelica, until the courts could decide something permanent.
That did not set very well with Bette. She was a “now” kind of person.
I drove her home, to West Los Angeles, before noon and dropped her off because I had a lot to do. I knew her friends up in Canada were coming home that day, as well as Tina with Henry and Angelica. Bette told me she would let me know later that evening for sure if she would go to Maui with me.
She called after 9 p.m. and said that contrary to her lawyer’s advice she did indeed, try to call Tina at Henry‘s. In fact, Bette called Tina’s cell once during the day and again in the evening, leaving messages. Tina ignored her calls. She also phoned Tina’s office at the studio, to no avail.
I reminded her that Joyce would take care of it. It was no good her jeopardizing and/or compromising the visitation rights. Tina was obviously not going to budge at this time. With a heavy sigh, Bette acquiesced.

Finally they are there!!! ALONE!!!! Wooohaaa Bette is nearly Alpha Bette again. I mean she is nearly her old self again. I love that Bette. I can so picture it before me, long walks on the beach, long talks on the love seat, Long hours in each others arms. BTW the place where you are right now sounds cool to. I’m not into wine all through I do have some nice memories about it but I know it’s a beautiful sight to see. In mine last post I meant that Bette and Sissee will be together forever and that Tina will be with Henry and Howie with a new woman. But there exes will share the kids with them. So everyone will be happy. I have a feeling you will keep up the drama for now so I probably need a lot of Kleenex. Anyway I hope there will be a romantic moment on Maui. Nice update as always, I hope to read more soon.

kbergin, Thanks for your comments, as usual. Trust me, you will know Maui before we are through. It seemed like a short chapter because there was little dialogue.
September, I will be back home on Thursday but I brought my 2006 disc with me. I will try to set up the next chapter sooner, if I can find the time between having fun.
Wow, Sissee, another wonderful story, this time in Maui. I have never been there, but I think one day, I will be visiting there. I am happy that Bette will have a chance to spend sometime with Sissee, after like 20 years or so later. They deserve to “reconnect” Hurray!!

September, I loved the Alpha Bette in the pilot too. I think we all did but IC has done nothing but bring her to her knees ever since. Meanwhile, Bette and Sissee are realy going to get to know each other again. I think you know what that means!
Id18, So you know Mama’s Fishhouse? So beautiful inside. A place celebrities enjoy as proof of their photos all over the place. And yes, that beach they have is so smooth and soft. The scene of many Hawaiian wedding photos. I hope you will enjoy the rest of the Maui series because you have obviously been there.
