The Adventures Of Bette Porter And Sissee Gardner Schmidt After Howie (Part 2, Chapter 5)
PART TWO: New Haven, Conneticut
Chapter 5
We slept in until nine o’clock on Saturday morning. That was a luxury for both of us but we had to get cracking once we opened our eyes. Bette had planned a full day for us starting with that self-guided tour of Yale’s public art displays. Some of the pieces were there when we went to school but more had been added since then and had become a public trust of compelling history depicting changes in cultural values. We saw some of it on the campus tour but naturally Bette wanted to see each item in the collection close up and personal.
The list of twelve items on our itinerary was certainly hers but I was okay with it since she took the time to create it, including some reservations and appointments. It all sounded good to me. Besides, all I cared about is that we were together.
After the tour we would find a bar for a light lunch and drinks, then go get our tattoos. Number nine on her list was to go check in for a harbor dinner cruise between 4 and 5 p.m. and while we waited, she said we would pursue the enigmatic number ten on her list since it was in the same area of the wharf.
That was another one written in code like tattoo’s number eight. When I asked her initially what, “Sugar Taffy and Vanilla.” was, she just smiled again and said she would tell me later.
Well, before we even got out of bed that morning, I asked her again what it meant and why she needed to write it in code.
“I wrote those two items in code because I wanted to surprise you but I also was afraid Mary might see it.”
“She saw the list but never said anything.”
“That’s the point. It wasn’t obvious.“
“So what does it mean?”
“Just say the initials of those words.”
I thought a minute and said, “S, T and V.”
“Exactly.”
“Exactly what?”
“Well, my sweetie, it’s not a candy store.”
“I honestly thought it was.”
“What’s your favorite S word?”

Hi Sis, I have no idea how getting a tattoos will entail. Seems like you did some research on it (with Ms. Google, perhaps). Now B & S are happy with their “marks”, next thing is the sex toys adventure, I guess. PPS.
Bette’s Babe, Yes, I spent a lot of time with Ms. Google on this chapter since I have never had a tattoo. I learned a lot. I think they are neat.

bombastic bully, Yes, this chapter disappeared yesterday because I made some mistakes and had to delete it. But now you see it is up and running. As for your tattoo, I agree. I would be too afraid to get one as well but writing this chapter has given me a whole new perception on them.
Gummy Bear, You are right, I have not been as fast with my chapter posts lately because I am on a trip and have been very busy. I am going home tomorrow though, so perhaps you will see an improvement. Sorry about that boobee!
