Tell Me Something Good – Chapter 30

    Previously…

Once again Alice offered an explanation. “I was just having fun. I wanted to surprise you. You didn’t really think I was going to let you sleep apart before one of the most important events in your life, did you?” Not getting an answer, Alice asked again, “Did you?”

Bette and Tina looked at each other and looked at Alice. They stepped forward and enveloped the blonde journalist. “Thank you.” Bette and Tina replied in unison.

“You’re welcome.” Alice returned as her throat filling with emotion.

“All right now, let’s going inside.” Kit told the gang.

Bette turned to Tina. “Want to share a frozen hot chocolate or an Outrageous Banana Split with me?”

“I want to share everything with you.” Tina smiled. Grabbing Bette’s hand, she led her and her daughter inside while Kit, Alice and Dana followed behind.

    Chapter 30

Bette slowly opened her eyes and allowed her gaze to drift to the sleeping blonde curled up at her side. She watched as Tina crinkled her nose as she slept. “I love you,” she told the blonde who snuggled closer. Bette rested her cheek on the blonde’s head and recalled last night’s events at Serendipity. They had talked about the vacations they shared, the weekends at the beach and nights at the clubs when they were all much younger; oftentimes wiping away tears because of the laughter. Bette reached over and grabbed her watch from the bedside table. Six o’clock. She and Tina had plenty of time before they had to get ready for the wedding. Since they were going to exchange vows and have the reception at the Boat House in Central Park, they opted for a later wedding time. She placed her watched back on the bedside table and held Tina tighter. Soon she was off to sleep again.

    A Few Hours Later…

“Rise and shine, sleepy heads,” Alice said as she adjusted the hotel room phone that she was holding between her chin and shoulder.

Bette groaned as she heard Alice’ voice on the phone. “I’m getting up Al. Just give me and Tina 20 minutes.

“No hanky-panky Porter. The two of you can do that later night tonight…twenty minutes. We’ll see you then…”

    1. Lovely update. Don’t want to see this story end, it has been so heartwarming. Can we not stretch the story for a few more chapters. We have the marriage, honeymoon, trip back and lives to be lived together. Living together coulf be worth about 4-5 chapters itself, and the others, well we could just stretch it to infinity. Just sayin’. Thans so much for sharing.
