After the horse and snake incident, the rest of the day on the farm passed quite uneventfully. Tina and her family were still showing Bette the ropes of living on a farm and Bette surprisingly was starting to pick things up quickly. Tina was glad that Bette was still such a good sport, given all that she had gone through the past few days and that she actually seemed to be enjoying herself a bit more. She was a lot more playful and the laughter seemed to flow from her gorgeous lipseven if it was at herself.

Bette pitched in all day despite the pain in her lower back from hitting the ground hard, and Lance even let her try her hand at driving the tractor out in the fields. It was nothing like her Saab, but sitting in the drivers seat somehow made Bette feel like she fit in on the farm a bit more. But fitting in on the farm or not, she couldnt help but feel terrible when she drove the tractor right over Jessi and Dannys house when she was staring at Tina and not paying attention to where she was going. After a lot of reassurances from Tina, Lance and Denise that it would be okay, Bette finally let go of her guilt, stopped pouting and even helped Lance to rebuild a house for her two saviors.

The day went by quickly and soon it was time for dinner. Bette, Tina, Lance and Denise sat around the dinner table talking away the time before it was time for bed. Bette and Tina decided to stay up a while longer before turning in themselves.

T: Come on babe, its such a nice night, why dont we go for a short walk before bed?
B: Sounds great T.

The duo walked hand in hand, under the night sky, feeling the cool country breezes caressing their bodies. The night sky was filled with more stars than any city girl could imagine, and Tina noticed that each night when they looked at the stars, Bette herself seemed to have stars in her eyes as she stared and wondered in amazement at all the stars that she never got to see in the city.

T: Beautiful isnt it Bette
B: It sure is T. Its nothing like living in the cityI mean back home we can see like what? Um, 10 stars? And out here.

Bette stood looking at the stars, and Tina stood along side her smiling and just watching her wife. She replayed the comical events that had happened to Bette over the past few days and decided to treat Bette to a day out and off the farm tomorrow. Granted it would be out in nature, and not in the hustle and bustle of the big city, but she was confident that Bette would love it. Bette and Tina stayed out in the field gazing at the stars for a while longer before heading up to the house and turning in for the night.

The next morning instead of being woken up before the sun came up, Tina decided to let Bette sleep in a little as she prepared everything that they would need for their day. The sun began to peep over the horizon as Bette rolled over and reached for Tina. Not finding her there she forced open one of her eyes to look for her wife just as she heard a loud..*****-A-DOODLE-DOOOOOO. Startled, Bettes eyes shot open as she practically jumped out of bed and fell on the floor as her leg got tangled in the sheets.

B: What the ***** is that?!

*****-A-DOODLE-DOOOOOOO

Bette got up, and having fallen right on the spot that she had fallen off of Cookie the day before rubbed her ***** as she made her way over to the window. Squinting into the morning light, Bette scanned the yard for what made that much unwanted sound so early in the morning. As she looked out, she failed to see the rooster perched on the roof, right below the widow.

Bette practically jumped backwards, bumping in to the nightstand and falling onto the bed, arms flailing wildly in the air. She was trying to catch her breath when she heard it, a sound that had become all too familiar to her over the course of the weeklaughter. She knew full well who it was, and without even turning to face her she addressed Tina,

B: Stop laughing! It wasnt funny T. It wasnt funny.
T: Oh, yeah it was.hahaha. Now that was a sight. Whats the matter Bette, scared of a little chicken?
B: No. I wasnt scared, merely startled.
T: Oh, I see, just startled huh? Well why dont you get your *****, startled ***** over here and give me a kiss good morning Porter.

As if in a trance by Tinas words, Bette hopped right off the bed, walked over to Tina and gave her a passionate kiss that left both women breathless.

T: Well if I knew a rooster could get that kind of results out of you babe I would have asked for one a long time ago.
B: Oh hush up T. You know I love you and dont need no damn rooster to get me in the mood to show you.
T: Oh yeah?
B: Yeah. How about I toss you back on that bed and show you right now!
T: Bette, as good as that sounds right now you need to get ready so that we can get an early start today.
B: Gawd, T. What do you have in store for me today? Cattle roping? Deer hunting? Pig slopping?
T: No smarty pants. I have a surprise for you and it doesnt require us to be on the farm. So for todayno chores or farm work for you.
B: Woohoo! OkayI love surprises! And if its off of the farm, then thats bonus points for me! Ill go get ready right now!

Just as she had said Bette flew out of the room to go and get ready for a day with her wife doing God knows what, but at least it was with Tina and off the farm so laughter should be at a minimum. Quick as a flash, Bette washed up, changed and was down stairs in the kitchen with Denise and Tina. After a quick breakfast, Tina led Bette out to Lances pick-up truck and loaded everything in the cab before double-checking the tow hitch that connected the trailer with the ATV to the truck.

T: Okay babe, are you ready to go?
B: Ummmm, T? What the ***** is that?
T: Well the spot that I want to take you to today isnt accessible by vehicles, and since your butt is still sore, I figured that you wouldnt want to hike too much and wouldnt mind riding an ATV instead.
B: Gee T, thanks for being concerned, but I dont have to drive that thing right?
T: Well Ill drive and if you want to I can teach you how to drive it later on today. But for now, you can ride *****.
B: Ha ha funny.

The ride over to the valley mountains that Tina wanted to share with Bette took a little more than half an hour, and for most of that time Bette stared out of the window in awe of the beautiful scenery that Nebraska had to offer. Tine drove to the base of a small mountain, parked and unloaded the ATV and other things that they had brought for their days journey. Bette was amazed at the expertise that Tina showed driving the four-wheeler through the rugged terrain and she held on tightly to Tinas waist partly because she was scared of getting thrown off of the ATV, and partly because she just loved the feel of her wife in her arms. Before Bette knew it, Tina was cutting the power to the ATV and unpacking their belongings. After being suited up with a backpacks filled with goodies the two began to walk the short distance between the ATV and what Bette could only assume was the edge of a cliff.

T: Come on babe, were almost there.
B: Im coming, Im coming T. Whats the rush any.WHOA!

Bette stopped on her tracks as she got her first glimpse of the sight that Tina had brought her to see. It was beautiful. The hilltop over looked a small waterfall that ran down in to a small fresh water pool feeding a flowing stream. The landscape was dotted with pine trees and other foliage giving it a look right out of one of the many pieces of nature artwork that had crossed paths with Bette over the years. The pre-noon sun hit the waterfalls cascading water at just the right angle giving off a small rainbow that seemed to spread over the pond. As Bette stood there speechless, her eyes wide with amazement, she did not hear Tina double back behind her until Tinas arms were wrapped around her waist. Instinctively Bette brought her arms to rest on Tinas and leaned back a little into her wife.

B: T, this is amazing. Its, its just so beautiful. Ive never seen anything like this before.
T: Bette, I wanted to share something special with you. After all that youve already been through this week, I thought a little TLC was in order for my beautiful wife. And I want you to know that even if I have laughed at you way more than I ever have these past few days that I love you. Now, forever and always, I love you Bette.
B: I love you to Tina. And I know that no matter what kinds of things you put me through, or how many times youve laughed at me recently that you love me. That is one thing that I will never doubt, the love that we share.
T: Porter you can just be so sweet sometimes. Now come on, why dont we get everything set up so that we can have a bite to eat and enjoy the daymaybe we can even take a dip in the pond.

Tina had turned Bette around by now, and raised a seductive eyebrow as she verbalized her last statement. Bette was all but aroused as she looked into Tinas eyes since this vacation of theirs wasnt exactly what she had in mind when she agreed to it.

The duo spread out a blanket and an assortment of fruits and sandwiches that Denise and Tina had packed for them earlier that morning. As they ate, they continued to talk, the conversation flowing between them seemed to have no end. All through lunch, Bette kept looking around at the surroundings around her in awe as Tina sat back and watched her lovely wife take in the beauty of a place that she had never known. After lunch they lounged around a bit under the shade of the pine trees before going on a short walk so that Tina could explain more in detail all that now surrounded Bette. Bette was completely entranced by Tinas words as she explained different things that were foreign to Bettes city upbringing. As they walked along, Bette took every opportunity available to thank Tina for sharing this place with her and how much she loved her. As the sun entered its mid afternoon rotation, Tina suggested to Bette that they cool off with a dip in the pond below.

B: T, I didnt I told you earlier that I didnt bring my suit.
T: Well sleepy head I packed it for you this morning, but its so gorgeous out here and no ones aroundso who needs suits?

Bette felt a devilish grin creep across her face as Tina finished her last statement.

B: Skinny dipping?
T: Yeah skinny dipping, unless of course you want to take the time to get changed.
B: Oh heck no, lets go!

Bette eagerly reached out and grabbed Tinas hand, and although she had no idea how to get down to the pond, she charged ahead full of excitement and anticipation. With a little bit of guidance from Tina, the pair made their way down the hillside and to the edge of the cool mountain pond. Bette undressed quick as lightning and decided to help Tina undress as wellthe anticipation, desire and need growing with each passing second.

T: Ready babe?
B: Oh, yeah! Lets go!

Both women jumped into the water, feeling the icy coolness cover their bodies as they moved around. Bette and Tina inched their way closer to the waterfall as the continued to kiss and caress each others bodies. Tina turned the pair around so that Bettes back faced the cascading water. She lifted Bettes legs and wrapped them around her waist as she backed Bette up under the falling water. As they packed up and began the journey back to the farm, Bette watched Tina, wind blowing in her hair, and smiled. It was as if she could not take her eyes off of the wonderful woman that filled her whole life with love and happiness. And as much as Bette hated to be laughed at she loved this woman so much, that she would put up with a lifetime of strange things, good times and bad, laughter and tears just to be with this woman.

Their wonderful day off the farm and in nature was coming to an end as they both lay down in bed for the night. As if theyre bodies where created perfectly for each other, they spooned until each woman drifted of to sleep. Bettes last thought before heading off to join Tina in dream land was, And the long ***** week continuesI wonder whats in store for me tomorrow?.
