    SOMETHING SO RIGHT

    Chapter 41

    Bette rolled over in bed and looked at the beautiful blonde who was next to her. It was only 6am and Bette had slept fitfully most of the night. She was on the eve of her 30th birthday and like most birthdays did she was considering how well she had done in the past year. She had been lying thinking about the negative things in her life-like the continuing acrimonious relationship with her father. Melvin was never going to accept that his high flying, Ivy League educated daughter was a lesbian. But still every time she spent time with him she tried to make him see her point of view. She had tried reasoning with him -explaining that it was something that just was a fact about her. She had tried to tell him about the disastrous attempts to be straight and none of it had worked.

    She had been thinking that maybe she could introduce him to Tina – was he such a grouch that he wouldn’t be charmed by Tina ? But Bette had vetoed the idea even before she had suggested it to her girlfriend – the last thing she wanted was Tina to feel uncomfortable and Melvin was the master at that. So it looked like her estrangement with her father would last.

    Bette was also concerned about Kit – the drinking and drugs were taking a serious toll on her health – this latest binge had left her looking hagged and worn. When would Kit learn that she couldn’t even have one drink – that one drink lead to several dozen and that lead to whatever drug she could get her hands on.

    But as Bette looked at the sleeping blonde next to her she knew that all that mattered about the last year was the good fortune that had brought her to this point in her life – she had found her soul mate and that blew everything else out of the water.

    Bette reached out and touched Tina’s face – the blonde tried to brush her hand away. Bette lent closer and kissed Tina softly on the lips

    “Go away “

    “Good morning my sweet “

    1. Damn. I had been looking forward to reading about this birthday so much. Bette better push her off..and tell her in no uncertain terms she is in a happy relationship. Then, tell Tina. No way I want Tina not trusting Bette. Or, Bette not trusting herself.

    20. I am confident that Bette will push her away, and says that she loves what she has. I just hope that she doesn’t fall on her face or butt when she pushes her LOL PPS :o).
