Shades of Paradise-Sequel to Bette’s Dilemma

Tina sat sipping her tea, eyes closed enjoying the gentle breeze that caressed her face. Gone was the chaos of earlier— Angelica was off to kindergarten for the rest of the day and she had finally been able to get Austen to halt his endless curiosity long enough to sleep. She had retreated to the sunshine and lounge chair happy to have a few moments to herself.

It was difficult to believe that it had been two years since Jodi’s attempt to destroy not only Bette’s career but also the rekindling of Bette and her relationship. Those days seemed like a distant past now as Tina sat thinking beside the pool. From the moment she had sold her house and she and Angelica had returned to the house that Bette and her had shared for so many years Tina had marveled at the incredible sense of home and completeness she had felt. Sometimes she had to shake her head it felt so much like paradise. Bette had worked for another six month full time at the university and then suddenly an opportunity to open her own museum had almost fallen into their lap. Bette had remained on the part time roster of university staff technically since the opening of the Porter Museum of Fine Art, teaching a class each semester but the majority of her time had been given to the dream that she had never thought would never be a reality.

Smiling softly to herself Tina’s mind to the morning that she and Bette had sat here months before enjoying a quiet, early breakfast while Angelica had slept. Bette had leaned in to refill the tea cup that had been in front of her or so she had thought at the time. She had been startled when Bette’s lips had gently caressed her ear as she caressed her face. The earnest tone of Bette’s voice had briefly struck a note of fear in her heart. She remembered the sensation had been momentary as she had registered Bette’s words.

"Baby, I’ve been thinking with the gallery opened and reasonably settled and since I am the boss and all it might be a good time to think about giving Angelica a baby brother or sister."

Pulling back she had found herself on a roller coaster plunging from the height of happiness that Bette’s words had caused.

    1. OMG crappers leesa you started again with drama!! i think things will be different this time around cuz tina won’t let bette get away with crapola :)PPS

    2. Go get your woman T and lick some sense into her quick! (Ha!) Love your stories and the way you write! I really like the fact that Bette had their second child – they are so good together. I hope Bette’s got her hair up in a ponytail so Tina will have something to grab hold of when she pulls Bette’s head out of her ass! PPS – the suspense is killing me.
