SECOND CHANCES 10
During the next days Bette and Helena dated for a few things that didn’t seem like a date but felt like one, doing shopping for their kids and theirselves, coffe, museums, movies,… On Sunday morning they even went to a pool with Helena’s kids.
They were enjoying each second of freedom together and by their own… New York was making both of them finding easier to remember who they used to be. Both women had noticed how New York obtained the best of them, they were relaxed, happy,…
On Sunday night they drove the kids home. While addressing to Helena’s appartment they saw and add from “Norma” and Helena sighed at the sight and said Norma it’s simply perfect.
Bette looked at the woman seating at her side surprised, she had no clue about Helena’s love for opera, I’m not very much into opera, sorry.
Really? Norma is breathtaking… I’ve always loved opera, but when I wast to years ago at the Opera in Paris I felt in love with Bellini’s works… explained Helena
The British continued talking about opera, and though opera was not Bette’s main interest she found herself lost in the words Helena was saying, she was so passionate, so caring with the words she used to describe the music… it was hypnotic listening to her. Bette left Helena at her home, not without ending asking Helena not to apologize for the mini-conference she had attended at the car about opera. Helena felt sorry for talking like a teenager about opera almost forgetting about Bette being there with her, but Bette felt so good with the mini-conference that made Helena feel better. While driving home after saying good night to Helena Bette started thinking about Norma, Helena and her new dress.
On Monday and Tuesday both women had no news about the other. Helenea tried to call Bette twice and she only got to reach her voice mail. Though she was havinga lot of fun with her kids she started thinking that maybe she cross the line talking in the car so much about opera once Bette admitted she was not much into it.The hardest thing for the british was when she realised that two days without hearing Bette’s laugh or voice had her mourning all around the big apple.
