    Rekindle an Old Love

Alice walked alongside Shane as Shane leaned against the cart. Alice looked at the items on the shelves as Shane threw stuff in. She sighed as she pulled her hat more down over her eyes.

“So are we going to talk or are we going to have this edgy silence between us?”

Alice shook her head. “I really don’t want to talk about it. I mean—there’s nothing to talk about.”

“Well if you want to talk about it, I’m here.” Helena walked over to her friends and looked into the cart.

“This is all junk food. There isn’t any real food in here.” She stared at the chips, dip, cookies, cookie dough, candy bars and more. “Do I have to do everything myself?” She grabbed the cart from Shane and began to walk over to the vegetables and fruits.

“What crawled up her ass?” Alice looked at Shane.

“I don’t know. She’s been stressing out lately. But enough about her, y’know somebody’s birthday’s coming up.” Shane smiled.

“I know, I know. It’s your birthday. So what do you want for your birthday?”

“I don’t know.” Shane shook her head. Alice dropped her head as they walked down the aisle.

“We could have worked things out. She didn’t have to run.” Shane wrapped her arm around Alice’s shoulders. “I wasn’t a bad girlfriend. I was a great girlfriend. The best she could ever have. What did I do wrong?”

“I don’t know Al. You guys were great together, but sometimes things aren’t meant to be.”

“But we were meant to be Shane. Everything was perfect til Miss Lara Perkins came back to the picture.”

“You can’t blame her for coming back. She didn’t know.”

“I don’t know what I’m going to do without her. I’m lost without her.” Shane pulled Alice closer to her and kissed the top of her head.

    “Everything’s going to be okay.”

Alice sat at the table at the Planet and stared at the cup in front of her. Shane, Carmen, Helena, Bette and Tina sat around the table looking at their friend sorrowfully. Alice felt like she was on display in front of her friends. She didn’t want to be there. She wanted to be home, laying on the floor, listening to sad, heartache music, and maybe adding more to her shrine to Dana. She grabbed a hold of her cup and took a drink of her now warm, stale coffee. She kept her eyes away from her friends and looked around the place. She sat the cup down and licked her lips.

    1. Hey there aki, man poor Al, and I love how Helena didnt like how Lara said that like it was bout time she got out. Geez, what did she expect? Anyway, loved it especaially how you added the shrine of Dana into your story!!

    2. Somehow, I never really like Lara. She seemed too sweet to be real. Rub it in, “I’m closer to Dana now.” It is rather difficult for me to relive this part of the series. I totally felt bad for A then, as I feel now. Acb, good job. pps.

    3. Another great chapter, AKcb! Loved the additional explanation of how Alice got the cut-out — in a very “Alice” way. I also like that her friends are being more supportive than they were written on the show (at least that we saw). I’m a bit pissed at Dana for even asking about Alice. Lara better watch out or she will “smother the mouse”. Props to Helena for her comment. Even if Lara really meant it, it is not her place to say — she was a big part of Alice’s problems in the first place. PPS! Thanks!!

    4. I’m totally hating Dana. She acts like if nothing has happen. Alice needs to prove to Dana that she can live with out her. The gang needs to seriously talk some sense into Dana.

    5. Just back from holiday and had found the first chapter of this and then here is another – fantastic as as it is my favourite people and I can’t wait to see you write a better outcome to this era in their lives than the show managed to do, so keep this coming. Love it!!!

    6. psshhh I knew there was a reason I didn’t like Lara. huh getting in the way of Danish. I know there’s a reason, but tsk, I really don’t know what it is. hehe my favorute part was when helena said “Bollocks”. don’t be nice to her Helena PPS;D
