“So Tina, will I be meeting any more of your ex girlfriends this weekend?” Sam cracked.
Tina laughed, grateful that Sam was such a good sport. “I think I’ve met my quota for the week,” she assured her.

As they drew closer to Peggy’s home the neighborhood became progressively more impressive.
Commerce Street was lined with knotted old trees and lovely brownstones and offered a quiet respite from the bars, cafés and jazz clubs surrounding it.
“Here we are.” Sam stopped at an address as beautiful as they expected it to be.
“Do you have a key?” Tina asked, looking back at Bette.
“Tina, it’s Peggy Peabody.” Bette raised her eyes expectantly.
“And?”
“And it’s staffed. She keeps a cook and a housekeeper available at all times.” Bette smiled, rolling her eyes and shrugging.
“Of course.” Tina rolled her eyes in return.
Stepping from the jeep Bette pulled out her hanging bag and briefcase and glanced a bit nervously back at the women watching her.
“So, I really appreciate the lift,” she said awkwardly. She wasn’t sure what was appropriate here.
Tessa climbed over and got out of the truck, surprising Bette with a hug. “I hope we’re going to see you later. These guys are working half the time, so call me if you want some company.” She handed Bette a card.
Bette looked at her surprised but recovered with a charming smile. “Thanks. I’m not sure I’ll have time, but that sounds lovely.”
Tina got out of the Jeep as well.
“Good luck with your meeting,” she said softly.
“Thanks, T-“ Bette mumbled, moving closer to Tina without actually touching her. Making eye contact the blonde and brunette quickly kissed before Bette picked up her bag and briefcase. “You have my cell?” she asked Tina.
“Yeah. I have it,” Tina nodded, her stomach in knots.
Bette glanced towards Sam who was watching all of this with a bemused look on her face.
“Thanks, Sam. It was nice to meet you,” Bette gave a small wave. She was grateful that Sam didn’t hop out and hug her too.
“I’m betting that’s not how you’ll describe it to Alice,” Sam joked.
Bette smiled with her. “Maybe not ‘nice,’” she admitted. “How about ‘surreal?’ Anyway, thank you,” she smiled again.
“Bye ladies.” Bette gave Tessa and then Tina one final look before heading up the walkway to Peggy’s.

What an absolutely incredible story! Bette is so staying in NY longer than 2 days. Helena is on the scene so the plot has definitely thickened. Can’t wait for your next post!

Well, you were certainly right about that….the plot thickens. Helena, living in the same house as Bette and Tessa, dying to get together with Bette. Tina perhaps rethinking things??? Should be most interesting in the chapters to follow!
Tessa will question Tina about Bette and if Tina is smart she will tell very little. So Helena is in the picture now.wow=== The eyes of three beautiful are one Bette. thanks
Well, I caught up per your PM! This is an excellent story. The dialog is spot on, it has controversy with the entire ‘rape’ conversation (which I have to say if anyone was forceful it was Tina in how she initiated things) and now Helena will be coming into the storyline. What a tangled web you do weave. I love the story and thank you for writing it!

hi again and thanks agaian indeed so many fine ladies looking for the attention of ms porter when she will always be reserved for her one and only . I know her journey back to Tina over whatever this timespan becomes will be as enthralling as all of this beautifully written prelude. PPS
My my this is going to be so very interesting in the next few chapters. Tessa and Helena getting the hots for Bette and Tina rethinking the whole thing, maybe she should have not left Bette for that long and I wonder just how long it will take her to call Bette. The plot thickens. PPS

oh shit, this is not a simple s/l is it. my stomach hurts for Bette but now u introduce Helena and the plot thickens…stirring it up, i mean both my sore tummy and the story…oh well, i anxiously await further misery.

Yea, what Rau said – awaiting for further misery because you know – it’s just so much better with fan fiction than IC’s special interpretation of how to write a story. I hope you continue this through a Fire Island escapade at the very least.
You write dialogue really well and capture the awkwardness, sarcasm, humor and longing among the women. You thicken the plot by adding Helena, beautiful, amazingly sexy Helena. And even Tessa seems interested in Bette. Even Tina seems interested in Bette. Damn, some fine women! PPS.
All eyes on Bette. I really enjoying this plot.

Why do I think that B’s quick visit to NY is going to turn into a long weekend (coerced by the Peabody women of course) and that there will be an appearance at the Fire Island party by B and Helena with Helena & Tessa in full flirt mode w/ Ms. Porter? Even if I’m wrong, that’s okl, just PPS!! :-)
Well Sam should be slightly worried because there is some tension still in the relationship between Bette and Tina. My guess is that the tension is high beteen Bette and Tina. I believe that Tina’s affection is higher with Bette then it is with Sam. Can’t wait for the next post.

I’m really liking this story. Really like the flashback storyline. I also like the way you are writing these characters. Perhaps Bettewill wind up going to Fire Island and maybe even having to pinch hit as a runway model??? pps
