My Teenage Dream – Chapter Seven

    The Power Of A Song

“Come on, I want to do a little karaoke. Just a little.” I say and she smiles.

“How?” Tina asks me. “We don’t have microphones or anything.”

“We have YouTube, that’s all we need.” I tell her and grin. I have practiced this song forever and I really want her to hear it.

“Okay then.” She says and nods. “But you begin.” I agree of course.

I surf to YouTube and click on ‘She’s got something about her – Chris Young’ I know she likes country. I tease her about it sometimes.

When the music begins to play I sit down on the chair and she is smiling but when I begin to sing, her face turns serious but still, there is a hint of a smile.

“It might be your smile, ‘cause it can change my day, hazel eyes that chase my blues away. It might be your touch that keeps me coming back for more. Loving words that keep me going strong. That heart of hers I hang my future on.” I look at her. I know my voice sounds a bit shaky but pretty good. I know she noticed that I changed ‘blue’ to ‘hazel’: the color of her eyes. She is looking at me, a look of confusion, surprise and… something else, I’ve never seen before.

“What it is, well, I can’t say for sure. It’s just she’s got this thing about her. She’s got this thing about her.” I am singing with a smile and her eyes still ooze that weird combination of feelings. My voice sounds a little surer. This is not a confession of love, I’m just singing a song and if she asks me if I’m in love with her, I’ll laugh and say no. She can’t know but in some strange way I want to send her some signals that in case that she does feel something, she’ll feel free to act on it. I know it’s weird.

“Like the magic in your favorite song. You just can’t put your finger on. In her arms when we’re all alone, I get the feeling that I’ve come back home. She’s got this thing about her.” I smile at her and softly she smiles back. Her eyes are still telling the same story of feelings that I still can’t say what they are.

    1. Tina seriously needs to get her shit together. As confused as she is, she can’t keep confusing Bette like that. Thanks for the awesome update Sil 

    2. …okay, I’ve gone through that. I only needed to cut once to realize that it was a mistake, but I could see the addictiveness of it. I think Tina needs to get her head out of her ass and just let go of her inhibitions

    3. Ha, know you love Bette as much as I do so no chance she’ll die;)) But love the twist! I’m a huge sucker for Bette in pain and can’t wait to see how far it’ll go, so PPS!!!

    4. No she can’t dye! After that seh has to show to Tina that she will be fine and she can live. Someday Tina will see that Bette is the one! Don’t kill Bette, plz
