    LOVE CHILD

    Chapter Seven...7
    Hush Mama Baby

    “Shhh.“

    “Nooo.”

“Stop Angel.” Bette strapped Angelica into her car-seat. She pulled on the straps, fastening them a little tighter over Angelica. Unfortunately this only made Angelica cried more, and louder, and she started kicking.

“Noooooooo.” Angelica cried. The two year old clearly knew she was not going to be held in her mother’s arms for a while. “No. No Mama. No Mama.”

“Shhhh. Hush Angel. We’ll be home soon. We’ll be home soon Baby.”

“Nooooooooo.” Angelica cried and kicked. “Mama No.”

“We’ll be home soon, Angel. Let’s get you home.” Bette used her hand to wipe at Angelica’s wet face and eyes. “Let’s get you home, okay.”

Bette’s soothing words did nothing; Angelica kept crying and the crying got louder as Bette left the back seat, closed the car door and moved into her driver’s seat.

“Mama!” Angelica kicked and screamed for the worse. “Mama!”

    “Angel Please.”

Bette glimpsed back at her little girl as she turned and began to pull out of the crowded hospital parking-lot. She reached back and touched and rubbed Angelica’s legs trying to calm Angelica. Still, Angelica was not about to take a break from crying.

Angelica had a powerful set of lungs on her.

Amid the screams from the back seat, Bette tried to focus on getting home, speeding up a little faster than she normally would with Angelica in the car. It was already a little passed midnight. The faster they got home, the better it will be for both of them.

As Angelica’s wails rang through the car, Bette ran her free hand through her hair, following with a heavy sigh. She was exhausted. Either she had initially read the thermometer wrong, or Angelica’s fever had dropped significantly by the time they got to the hospital. Angelica’s temperature has been going up and down for over four hours now and this was the result – endless crying and a miserable and fussy Angelica.
“Ma Ma!” Angelica’s little legs kicked like crazy as she wailed.

“Stop crying Angel , please.” Bette reached back and squeezed Angelica’s little foot again which was now wildly kicking against the back of the seat. “Please Baby. We’ll be home soon. We’ll be home soon. Let’s hurry and get home.”
