The next morning the both Dana and Alice were up by 7:30, showered dress, and on there way to The Planet by 8 to meet Shane. When they got there Shane was sitting at their usual table.

"Morning Ladies."

"Good Morning Shane."

"Morning Shane."

"So are we excited?"

"Of Course."

"Yeppers."

"Me too."

The three women drank their coffee, chatted and then headed off to the doctors office. When they got their they had to wait only about 10 mins before they were taken back to see the doctor.

"Good Morning Alice."

"Morning Doc."

"And how have we been feeling?"

"Ah pretty good. The morning sickness has died down a bit."

"Good. good."

"Have you been having any other problems?"

"Not really."

"Great."

"I tend to do things a little different. I’m gonna do an ultrasound."

Dana was quick to get worried. "Is there something wrong?"

"That’s why I want to do one. I’ve found from experience that this is the most critical time and ultrasounds should be done frequently."

"Oh okay."

"So Alice if you want to hop up here and we will have a look."

Alice got up on the table. She pushed up her shirt. The doctor got the machine and tools ready.

"Okay here we go. Remember this will be cold."

Alice braced herself. Dr. Wilson took the wand and started moving it around Alice’s belly. It took a few minuets before she found the tiny baby.

"Once again here we are."

"Is it a boy or girl."

"It will be about another 3 weeks before I will be able to determind the sex of the baby."

"Okay."

"Umm…Doc, about how far along am I."

"Well lets see here."

"I know its an embarressing question."

"Actually its quite common."

"Oh."

"Okay well the baby is about 2 inches. The face is starting to look more human, eyes and ears are getting closer to the normal position. So your are 12 weeks. It will start to move around but you wont be able to feel it because its still so small."

"Wow I didnt realize I was that far."

"Most people dont."

"But everything looks good other wise."

"Yes everything looks good."

"Good."

"But at this point, obvisously you want need maternity clothes but your waist is thicker. Also you may expericence so heartburn."
