Life With Liz CH 20
BAM
Waaaahhhhhhhhhhh
LIZ!!!
Bette jumped up and ran over to where Liz was and carefully looked her over for serious cuts and bruises hoping that she was all right. Liz cried a little before looking up at Bette and smiling. Bette breathed a sigh of relief as she picked her up and helped her dust off.
Sweetie you need to be careful okay? Dont play near the edge
Okay
Bette looked at the jungle gym thingie that Liz had fallen off of and shook her head in amazement. She had brought Liz to the playground after one of the mothers from Lizs daycare suggested it as a way for Liz to make friends outside of the day care. Sheryl, the mother who invited her, shook her head and laughed. Liz had fallen about five feet off the top of one of the pieces of equipment but amazingly just shook it off with a few tears. Sheryl and Tina watched on as Liz looked at Bette once more before running back towards her new friends so that they could play some more and Bette walked back over to where they were sitting and laughed.
Good thing she has a hard head
Learned from you babe
Sheryl and Tina laughed as Bette pretended to be offended at first before joining in the laughter. It was a beautiful weekend day and Bette and Tina were making the most of it by letting Liz run around til her hearts content. They were sitting on a blanket next to Sheryl and her husband and the four of them were basking in the sun while their kids played. Sheryl and Mark had two kids, Ryan and Christa, and according to Sheryl, they were quite a handful. Ryan was six and Christa just turned four and they never seemed to run out of energy. Liz and Christa had taken a liking to one another and they were always the two at the daycare who were playing in the dirt or climbing all over everything.
Hahahahaha..
Liz was squealing in delight as Ryan chased her around with a water gun followed by his little sister who was trying to take the gun away from him. Liz finally stopped running and Ryan stopped a few feet away from her with the gun aimed ready to fire. Christa didnt quite stop running and she ran smack into Ryan who fell over in surprise and Liz took this opportunity to pounce on him and soon the three of them were rolling around and laughing as they wrestled with each other.
Hey guys not too rough
Mark kept an eye on them as the ladies shook their heads and smiled.
And to think I wanted a quiet little girl
Not us, we like that Liz is toughat least she wont get picked on in school
Sheryl laughed at Bettes remark and as if to prove her mothers point Ryan had stopped wrestling with the girls and Liz and Christa were now going at it for control of the gun. They were still laughing so Mark decided to let them go and when Christa pulled the trigger on accident causing water to spray all over, mostly on Liz, Liz squealed in delight again. Ryan was laughing at them and he ran back over to where the parents were sitting and threw himself down next to his mom and dad.
Hey give it!!!
Liz had managed to wrestle the gun away from Christa who wasnt too happy about that and now she was standing there with her hands on her hips and was glaring at her younger friend. Liz smiled at Christa while looking at the gun, not actually knowing how to use it, and right when it was pointed directly at Christa she found the trigger and pulled hard, hitting Christa with a stream of water. Christa started crying and Liz dropped the gun looking very worried. Tina looked at Sheryl with an apologetic face while Bette and Mark jumped up to make sure that their kids were okay.
Sorry about that
Its okayshe got Liz pretty good too
The two ladies shared a laugh as Mark and Bette brought Christa and Liz back over to the blankets and dried them off. After eating a light lunch Liz, Ryan and Christa ran off to play again leaving their parents to do boring stuff like sit around and talk. The three kids ran down to a pond that was in the middle of the park, about twenty feet or so from where the parents were sitting, and they started looking at all the little creatures that take up residency there. Meanwhile the four parents were laughing about some of the antics that their kids get into.
Hahahayeah Liz does that too. And she also likes to draw on almost everythingincluding the furniture and the floors
Oh wait until she actually learns to color and things like that. Then its all overyou might as well expect a fully drawn in house
Bette and Tina looked at each other for a second before laughing and shaking their heads. Liz already had managed to draw on the dresser in their room, on her wall, on the door of her closet and on one of the many papers that Bette brings home to work on. Sheryl laughed and asked about Lizs hair, which used to be long, about half way down her back, but was cut right below her shoulders about a week ago. Tina laughed as she explained.
Well Liz was sitting at the table with me one day while I was cutting coupons and stuff out of the paper when she grabbed the scissors and started cutting chunks of her hair out. She managed to cut a good three or four inches or so out of one side so we had no choice but to get her hair cut short.
Sheryl laughed and shook her head as Bette and Tina rolled their eyes as they remembered that day. Liz had freaked Tina out when she grabbed the scissors, but that was nothing compared to when Bette came home and found her daughter with a big chunk of hair missing.
Speaking of the three terrors, theyve been playing down by the pond for quite a while dont you think?
The four of them looked over at what they were doing and started cracking up. Tina and Bette stood up and shook their heads as they walked down to get the kids. Liz and Christa were knee deep in the water trying to catch something while Ryan was almost down to his waist in the water but he was wet from head to toe, which meant at some point he had fully submerged himself in the water. Tina stood at the edge of the pond with her hands on her hips
LIZget out of the water right nowwhat are you guys doing?
Liz and Christa looked up at Tina and they both smiled. Ryan was looking down in the water and suddenly he dunked his head again causing a reaction from Sheryl.
RYANget out right now!!!
Ryan popped his head back out of the water and laughed while Liz and Christa started laughing uncontrollably. Liz finally looked at Tina with her most innocent eyes.
We were fishing mommy
Fishing?
Tina sighed and smiled as Bette raised an eyebrow at her daughter. Liz saw the anger in Bettes eyes and she quickly got out of the water and Christa and Ryan followed suit. Mark had a grim face as he scolded Ryan and Christa for playing the water while Bette and Tina stared down at Liz with their arms folded.
Liz Kentor you dont play in the water like that okay?
Yes mommy
Liz pouted as Bette carefully picked her up and carried her back to the blanket where all their stuff was. She dried her off, again, and changed her pants that she was wearing. It was getting late so both families decided to call it a day and head home and Liz sulked the entire way home and through her shower before finally getting sent to bed. After putting Liz down, Tina went back into the living room to join Bette on the couch to watch some TV. Tina sighed as she rested her head on Bettes shoulder and Bette instinctively reached out and wrapped an arm around Tina and smiled down at her.
Whats wrong baby?
Can you believe that soon were going to have two of themand in a few years they will be just like Ryan and Christa? We are never going to sleep
Bette laughed and kissed the top of Tinas head reassuringly. True, Bette felt more tired these days now that Liz had more energy and she could run around more, but it was a tired feeling that Bette loved. She loved coming home at the end of the day to her family, and she knew that deep down, Tina loved it too. Bette tightened her hold on Tina and kissed her cheek softly.
Its okay babyat least shes happy right? Were happy and shes happythats all that matters
Tina mumbled something in response that Bette took to mean, I guess, and within minutes Tina was snoring lightly. Bette let her sleep like that for about half an hour as she watched some television before gently waking her up and taking her to bed. In less than three months there would be an addition to the Porter-Kennard family and once again Bette knew things would never be the same.

such a cute and adorable family day. Loved it. Loved your series. 5 from me!
i love liz each day more…
I love how realistic your story is, aaTnB!! Excellent!
Jeez I just posted it and already I got 3 stars…gee thanks…and you won’t even tell me why…
Dang, the nerve of some people. I have no clue why anyone would rate that a 3…it was sooo cute and adorable to read a story that helps one to relive the rascal days of their youth! 5 stars all the way for plastering a huge smile on my face…it was excellent…definitely no criticism needed! Keep more of these fun and loving stories of our favorite family coming! :D
aaTnB – lovely chapter – can’t help raise the rating because ‘already rated the story’ – but don’t take it to heart — please just keep writing – I had a 5star 3 hours ago and now it is down to 4 without any additional comments — so the (meansprited non-communicative) low ball rater is hitting the board — it would be nice if a comment was left with the poor rating — I think we could take the criticism — everyone is entitled to their opinion – it would just be nice to understand it…anyway, I enjoyed your chapter–thanks
Don’t worry about the rating I think the comments count more. At least those readers let you know what they think.
I love this series by the way. Always a great pick me up.
Hey girl totally ignore the ratings because there is not such thing for stories like this, I can’t imagine the kind of talent and work that takes, keep this familly funny, loving and upbeat, I Love Liz and I love your writing, so please keep them coming, :D
Adorable!!! I missed Liz… Thanks so much!
Beautiful story.LOve stories about kids.We had 4 boys so what the could do.Once all four gave each other a haircut right in the middle,so they could look like daddy. I’m a artist so try to keep them out of my studio was a job..Beautiful. I would give you a 10 but doesnt go that high
Yes – there is someone low balling the ratings – so ignore them. This story is so cute – and always a 5!
*remembers* ah the joy of fishing, without a rod or hook, just hands! lol. thank you for this chapter. enjoyable as always! :)
I think the rating mechanism may malfunction. I’ve seen all-5 stories register as 4. Don’t sweat it. We all love Liz!
I’m surprised she didn’t come home with a Koi in her pocket as a pet!
