Chapter 7b
Dana was lying in bed amidst a colorful array of highlighters with her chemistry text open and resembling nothing more than a neon rainbow.
Alice was rummaging around in the bathroom. A slight boom or rattle would emanate from there periodically and Dana just smiled, listening to Alice’s voice over the steady thrum of the shower.
Dana knew from personal experience that Alice had a harder time than most holding onto the soap in the shower and she had come to expect the dull thuds that sounded whenever she dropped it.
Shane was lying asleep, her arm thrown over her eyes and her own chemistry book stretched open across her stomach. Dana wanted to give her a few more minutes then planned to wake her. Their second test was the following day and though both girls had done reasonably well, Dana wanted to ensure that their grades stayed consistent.
Alice had the same test but her study methods were unknown to the tennis player. Alice had gotten an eight eight on the first test and Dana had had to assume that at some point Alice had in fact studied.
Dana heard the shower cut off and she unconsciously moved over in the bed to make more room. Since they’d been together, they had understandably spent most nights at Alice and Helena’s. The loft was spacious and had the added advanatage of being remarkably private. It didn’t have the noisy, bustling atmosphere that was so natural at the dorms. Instead of obnoxiously blaring stereos tuned to stations prone to overplaying grunge music, Dana was serenaded by a famous classical pianist or a budding rock star. The choice between the dorms and Alice’s place wasn’t really a choice but her parents had paid for the dorm and neither she or Alice liked the idea of letting Shane feel abandoned. Luckily, Shane spent quite a few nights out herself so the pair never had to feel too guilty.
She heard the musician bustling around noisily for a few moments and then the bathroom door opened, allowing steam to spill out into the bedroom. Alice walked out of the bathroom wearing a faded Def Leppard concert tee over sweatpants cut off at the knee.
Her hair was combed but still hung damp around her shoulders. She had already taken out her contacts and wore the glasses that Dana found disarmingly attractive.

Woot! Another chapter!! I like that you are delving more into Dana’s conflicts with coming out. I’m sure I’ve said it before, but, I love-love-love how you are writing their relationship. Thanks again for the great story!!

Yeah. I don’t think that it would be such a good idea for Helena and Bette being together. The two Alphas!!!! lol. I wonder why Alice wasn’t excited as much as Dana was for her seeing her in Rolling Stone. I would think that Alice would have been ecstatic to get that kind of publicity, but hopefully will found out in the next chapter??? lol PPS!
fripster, as far as I am concerned, you can post anytime and anything you want. I love the plan of the 3 musketeers to match up Bette & Helena. It is great to see A getting recognized. D was still young, I am sure in time, with A being by her side she would learn to deal with her insecurity and admit that she would come out to the world. And I am positive that you know exactly how these issues would be handled. Looking forward to your next post.
What a great way to start the morning. . . Actually it’s 11 am so as I was reading this I was trying to have brunch too. Another great chapter from you fipster. Alice, famous rock star. I understand why Dana is sort of afraid of what’s next to come, proves how much she cares about their relationship. I hope everything goes well for this D and A. thanks for posting. x0x
Wow!! Another great chapter from the Fripster. I love the way these 2 are with each other. It’s a shame Dana isn’t able to express her affection for Alice in public. I can’t wait to see how she deals with it as it eats away at her more every day. WOO HOO!! Alice in Rolling Stone!! Pls post soon
i know what you mean with the obsession with this site. i think i have been checking it daily for danish stories for like 5 years now. i know i am a loser. i need to get a life. but i am addicted to good danish stories like your own. the last two updates were great. i like how dana was delving in to her feelings. i love danish feeling conversations and declarations of love, i can’t wait till that happens in this one. but i can only assume that there will be DRAMA and angst to endure before the happy ending. but i gotta say – i love drama and angst. so as usual – great post. thanks for assuring me that you won’t be leaving us too soon. hope you had a good holiday.
Great update by the way! As for Alice & Dana they put the fun back in being young and inlove. And for B&H as a couple bring it on.
