Chapter 23 – The Plan Comes Together

Kit is cooking! Kit is cooking! That alone was enough for all the girls to come running. Alice and Dana walked in together both with their noses in the air like two hound dogs in search of prey. Big smiles spread across their faces as the aroma confirms that tonights dinner was going to be good. Shane laughs out loud at the girls antics as they come in.
Shane: Whereve you guys been, Im starved. Ive been smelling this long enough I was about ready to start without you.
Kit: Great youre here, lets eat.
With that they all sat down and got down to the important business of enjoying good food, eaten in the presence of good friends.
Oh, Im in pain. Alice moans as she pushes her dish away. Kit, you sure can cook. That was fabulous
Everyone is nodding heads and agreeing as all finish eating. With the food eaten and the dishes stacked in the kitchen, the girls all gather in the living room to review the status of the plan.
OK, girls, what have we each gotten done? Alice begins, always the general.
Dana: Kit, you should have been there, we were all working as a team to get Tina to agree to the auction. It was poetry in motion.
Shane: Dana, dont get too excited, Tina trusts us remember, besides it IS a good idea.
Alice: Come on guys what did you each get for the auction? I got some cool stuff from the magazines movie reviewer.
I got the Key, Shane proudly announces, Bette has agreed to donate six pictures. Man, Im not kidding when I tell you asking her was one of the toughest things Ive done I awhile.
Alice and Dana together: YESS.
We knew you could do it, great job Shane.
Shane: Well, that was the good news, the bad news is she wants it to be anonymous donation. She doesnt want anyone to know theyre from her.
Alice: Wow that blows, I got the art critic from the magazine coming. You know if these are as good as you two say, hes going to want to meet the artist.
Kit: Well, lets just take it one step at a time. We got her do donate; now we will work on getting her there.
And with that they all launched into their particular assignment. Alice was reviewing the list and action items yet to be complete and was satisfied that they were really going to make this happen. Well I think thats it. Does anybody have anything else I forgot? They all looked at each other shaking their heads saying no.
Alice: OK then I have one more thing. I want to see Bette.
Kit and Shane look at each other. Kit: What are you thinking Alice?
Alice: I dont know I just need to see her.
Kit: I dont know honey, let me get back to on that.
