    Honesty chapter 15

     Previously:

Alice hugs Bette on her way out the door. Bette watches Alice disappear down the long corridor again.

Bette looks at Tina, “Does she exhaust you? She exhausts me.”

Tina nods in agreement, “She means well.”

    Chapter 15

Another day has come and gone. Doctors and therapists have come and gone. Tina knows now that her speech problems are not permanent. Just due to the abuse the side of her face took. Nothing broken, no damage done to the vocal cords. Basically, a sore jaw and face muscles. Once those heal, she’ll be able to speak easily again.

As the sun sets Tina knows that she must insist that Bette go home and get some rest. Halted but persistent, “You   look    old.”  Tina knows those words will get Bette’s attention. “You look tired and you need to go home and get some sleep. I’m fine. I will sleep well tonight with the medication and the relief of knowing I can get better. I will get better. But, it won’t do me any good to get better if you make yourself sick worrying about me.”

Bette nods in agreement, “I’ll go. I don’t want to look too old before my time.” Bette smiled that beautiful Bette Porter smile.

“I love you and I will see you in the morning.”

    “Good night Baby!”

    “Good night T.”

One more day in ICU and two days post ICU, they are ready to release Tina from the hospital and she is ready to go home.

Bette drives through the intersection where the accident happened. Tina does not react. Bette leaves it alone, there is time for that.

When they arrive home, Bette has cautioned everyone that Tina is still weak and there should be no welcome home party but, those who love Tina, cannot find it in their hearts to ignore this occasion. Tina is coming home. She is not just being released from the hospital, she is coming home, to their home. This is the home that she and Bette planed a family in. This is the home that she and Bette wanted to raise Angelica in. This was their home and she would be home for good.

    1. such sexual energy T has for one so damaged…must be the Porter sex appeal…don’t end it quite yet…there are some lose ends…like who did the accident damage etc. pps

    2. Wow, Tina and Bette always make my heart beat a little faster. They will make it work and Tina will get better. I hate to see this wonderful story come to any end but look forward to hopefully a happy ending.

    3. As for this story ending so soon. Hmmm They say good things don’t last forever, but, there are some loopholes, we think. Some gaps to be filled. Besides, the potential that the storyline has, may go even further, to give closure to certain matters and THEN, wrap it up. Just lead the way, djrk. You are doing a fantastic job, here. We love the way you described the intimate bond that B&T have, plus how Angie is and will be a special part of their lives. Also, how important friends can be, when you have to go through rough times and they make your life easier. PPS Sincerely, Lucero & Marsha (JC’s Salsa Aunties)

    4. I love that Bette and Tina still have a carnal need for one another even while Tina is healing. I am so glad that Tina is home with her family. Fantastic chapter!
