    Honesty chapter 11

     Previously:

Bette brought a book with her. She wanted Tina to continually hear her voice. She began to read to her.

A couple of hours had passed and the nurse came in to let Bette know that there was someone asking for her. She walked to the desk and Kate Arden stood there.

“What are you doing here? Bette’s ire was about to rear it’s ugly head.

    Chapter 11

“Bette, I am so sorry. Is she going to be OK?”

Bette began to glare at Kate. “Tina was talking to me on the phone when the accident happened. Tina was telling me that she had something important that she needed to talk to me about. That you and she were getting back together and then the phone went dead. I thought that she hung up on me. It wasn’t until I got to the studio this morning that I heard what had happened. Nothing happened between us. I knew that she loved you and she could not get past that to be with me. We are friends. We work together. That’s it. It was never going to be anything more. I wish you both happiness. I just wanted to let you know that she was talking to me before the accident. She seemed very happy.”

“Thank you Kate for coming by …..’

“Is she going to be OK?”

“She has a brain injury and she’s comatose. There is no magic wand for this. It has to run it course. It’s a wait and see situation. I’ll tell her you came by.”

Bette turned to walk away, “It was Kate. The thing that she needed to finish was Kate Arden.”

Bette sat back down by Tina’s bed and started to talk as if Tina would answer.

“ Kate came by to check on you. She said that you were talking to her when the accident happened. “ With these words, Tina moved her hand. Bette caught the movement out of the corner of her eye. “Tina, can you hear me?”    … nothing.  “Tina, can   you   hear   me?” Her voice more frantic. Standing and walking from the bedside, raising her voice, “Tina, I’m here!  Looking toward the nurses station in the middle of the ICU, “Nurse, she moved, please come check on her!” Bette’s voice was both frightened and willful. Fearful that it was just an involuntary movement as the nurse described yet willing her to acknowledge that she had heard Bette’s voice.

    1. sorry I sliped behind again, but catching up it was hard to breath. These are early days for recovery but we just CANNOT have any lingering problems for Tina, Ok, please. Thank you, Md

    2. Glad that Tina is waking up hopefully the doctors can find what is causing the pain in her head. Probably hurts because she was banged around in the vehicle during the wreck and hopefully with time the pain will lesen. Until she can tell them exactly how and where it hurts it is really a guessing game. The brain is so fragile. So happy that she has awakened, that will give Bette more hope for a full and complete recovery. She just has to be okay, they deserve that chance to be a loving family. PPS

    3. Wow, Kate as a supportive friend is a different spin. I am so glad that Tina is awake and hope that she will be speaking soon. Poor Alice this has to be rough seeing Tina in a terrible situation after losing Dana.

    4. So…Tina was talking to Kate when she had the wreck. I knew she was bad luck when I first laid eyes on her. I don’t care if your Kate is a softer and kinder JINX!

    5. Very realistic! Wow! You sticked to all the minor and significant details, as far as commatose people are! Really AWSOME! We love where you are leading this story. We surely welcome the ride. Take us along with you. PPS Lucero & Marsha (JC’s Salsa Aunties)
