    Heartbeat – Chapter 26

    previously…

“I understand Bette. You’re ending a relationship…a marriage. I’m sure it hurts.” Tina knew the feeling. Even though she and Bette were never legally married, she had always considered Bette her wife. She knew the hurt Bette was feeling. She knew it very well. She glanced at Bette who had turned to look once again at the passing scenery.

The remainder of the drive was done in silence as each woman was lost in her own thoughts, each thinking back to their own relationship of long ago and what they each hope to happen this time around.

    Chapter 26

Tina glanced over to Bette. She reached down to the hand resting on her right thing and gave it a squeeze. “Bette, we’re almost at the airport. Why don’t you call Alice and let them know we’ll be there in less than ten minutes.”

“Okay.” Bette took her iPhone from her breast pocket. She went through her contact list and dialed Alice’s number.

    “Hi, Alice.”

“Bette, where the hell are you? We’ve been waiting like over two hours.”

“Well, if you didn’t surprise us. We would have been there to pick you guys up when your flight arrived. I told you were over an hour away when you called this morning.”

“It’s really tiring watching Shane flirt with flight attendants. In fact is nauseating.”

“Shane’s just hitting her prime Alice. Leave her alone. Listen, Tina said to head over to the arrival pick up area…to the last door.”

“We’re walking over there now, Bette. Dana, Shane, let’s go. What color car are you guys in?”

“Look for a white Lexus SUV. We’re at the airport and heading towards arrivals now.” Bette informed her blonde friend.

Alice stands near the curb and begins to wave frantically, which causes several people to look at her and move away from her. “Bette, I’m waving. Can you see me?”

“Yes, Alice,” Bette chuckled. “I can see you, but you better stop what you’re doing before someone calls the police for an EDP.”

    “An EDP, what’s that?”

    “An emotional disturbed person.”

    1. Only Bette and Tina can answer if they’re moving too fast. But then again, if Bette has to even ask the question, that’s perhaps an answer in and of itself…? Thanks for taking the time to post, tg. :)

    2. Don’t understand Bettes thinking they aremoving too fast. She didnt want the woman she was with, they had already filed for divorce before Tina entered her life again. Shes still in love with Tina and Tina with her, so what the hell is there to think about. She just needs to talk with Tina about it, in fact I thought it was already confirmed that they wanted to be together again. They certainly acted like it at the beachouse.

    3. Nice to see a new update. I can understand Bette, I think the reason why she said that to Shane was because she just want everything to be perfect for her and Tina. Its rare that couple get a second chance, i think Bette just wanted to make it right this time and not that she’s having second thoughts. Thanks for the awesome chappie t, post soon…

    4. No matter how right something seems, it can be overwhelming to feel like you’re moving from one relationship to another without a break. Interested to see what reasoning Bette has for this statement – to Shane instead of to Tina.
