    Heartbeat – Chapter 17

    Previously…

    Tina placed her head on Bette’s forehead. “I agree. I want this to be forever Bette. No holding back. I want you to be completely honest with me, even if you think it’s going to hurt my feelings and I will do the same, okay.”

    “Okay.” Bette replied. She was afraid of what was to come. She promised Kit that she and Tina would talk and now the time has arrived for the talk they should have had eight years ago. She hoped with all of her might that this was their second chance.

    Chapter 17

    “Do you believe the phrase, ‘Time heals all wounds’?” Tina asked before taking a sip of wine. Tina stood by the window and turned to face Bette.

    Bette contemplated Tina’s questions as she folded her legs and tucked her feet underneath her. She adjusted the pillow on her lower back and gathered her hair in a ponytail before settling back on the couch. She had often thought about that particular phrase and considered whether or not it was true. “I think what we do with our lives help us and heal us from whatever hurt we are trying to get over,” she paused. “I think it makes us more resilient and maybe stronger for things to come.” She looked up to watch Tina sit on the opposite end of the couch. “Forgiving you released me from the pain of what you did, I mean I don’t condone what you did and I’m sure you feel the same.” Bette shrugged her shoulders as she tried to get a control of her emotions. “I’ve made a place for what happened and I put in there.” She signed. “Its place is in the past, it affected me deeply, but I don’t ever want to go to that place again.” She looked Tina in the eye, whose eyes were red from crying, and entwined her fingers with the blonde’s. “It’s a place I don’t want us to go again.”

    Tina crawled over to Bette. She rested her head on Bette’s chest and collapsed against her. During the conversation that was long overdue, there were moments when she didn’t know if she was able to continue. It had been difficult for both of them to open up completely, but they did and succeeded.

    1. Thanks for the chapter – if you’re feeling like the story isn’t unfolding for you, take a step back and see where it should go next. I can’t speak for everyone, but I’m patient!

    2. All got up…. Seems that a lot of misunderstanding are the reason for their splt…Tina’s cheating in retaliation for Bette’s perceived indiscretion, which turned out to be nothing (or nearly… As kissing is still cheating…maybe we shouldn’t open that can of worms!!!!) but they are talking and maybe be more because big tease…you have let us hanging…. Thank you for these past chapters..👍💘

    3. I don’t think that time can heal all wounds especially if the wound is do deep. Maybe it may heal but it would certainly leave a scar to remind as to where the wound come from. But I always make an exception especially if it comes to my favorite couple (-;

    4. Thanks for the update… I’m glad I don’t have to count my spaces. You’re doing a great job writing this story so don’t stress out over it. The beginnings are always easy as I have so many, its the endings where I stall. Go with your heart and listen to the ethers and they will lead you where you need to go. We trust you!
