    Friends ch. 40

The whole week had gone by so quickly. We had people in and out of the house at all hours of the day for the entire week. We were putting the finishing touches on the wedding and we couldn’t be more excited. Bex knew something was going on, but it was kind of hard to explain to her. She would understand when she was a little older, but right now we told her it was a party because her mommy was in love. We had decided that Bex and Danni would be our flower girls, so they both marched around like a little princesses in their dresses.

We had decided to get married at a Napa Valley resort, we had found a great minister to marry us and the scenery was gorgeous. We had decided to go to the airport from there so I hired a car service to get Lara and I to and from the resort. We were having an outdoor wedding, the guests facing the gorgeous vineyard. There was so much green country side and the grape vineyards went on for miles, we had no doubt that this was the place we should get married. It was the perfect scene to create a very romantic ambiance; it was picture perfect.

Minutes seemed like hours as I was pacing back and forth in the room, my stomach full of knots. I was so used to being captured at every angle at a photo shoot, run around for hours in a short skirt on a tennis court in front of thousands upon thousands of people, I had people prying into my life and none of that made me nervous at all. But the act of standing in front of God, my family and friends, committing my life to another person was so amazing and beautiful, I was overwhelmed.

    “Dane?”

“Yeah Shane,” I said, a little out of breath.

“Maybe you should sit for a little bit.”

    “Why? We’re about to start.”

“Because you’re paler than a ghost,” she said and I immediately felt my face flush. She handed me some water and I drank it.

“She’s right Dana, just breath love. I’m gonna go see if everyone’s here and see where we’re at,” Howie said and left the room; I sat and started to breath heavy.
