    Finding Alex 8

Marissa yawned, glancing over at the clock next to her. It was four oclock. She jumped up startled realizing that was not in her alarm clock. After a quick inventory of where ever she was, Marissa remembered she had crashed at Shanes. Standing up, she stretched and carefully opened the door. Poking her head out, she didnt see Shane and she really had to find a bathroom. Glancing around, Marissa tried to figure out where it was. There were two doors, one hopefully lead toward the bathroom, the other she guessed was the roommates door. Finally after much deliberation, Marissa finally choose door number two. Twisting the door handle, Marissa peeked inside. It revealed an unkempt bathroom.

Figuring Shane wouldnt mind, she also jumped into the shower. After a short period of time, she walked out of the bathroom, clean, but still a little disoriented. Uncertain she tiptoed out to the kitchen.

You must be Marissa, Jenny watched amused as the girl yelped in surprise.

Hi, Marissa placed her hand over her heart, trying to calm down. You scared me. Your Jenny, right?

Yeah, the woman smiled staring at Marissa intensely. Shane had to go out. Im sure shell be back soon.

Oh okay, Marissa stepped back a little uncomfortable. Thanks… Ill just I think Im going to go get some fresh air.

Once you get back would you like to hear some of my writing, Jenny gleefully walked up to her pile of papers. I think Im finally getting somewhere.

Edging closer to the door, Marissa nodded, Sure, I mean yes, that sounds like it could be… fun. Ill be right back.

Marissa darted out of the room then slowed as she walked down the hallway. Silently she willed Shane to walk out of the stairwell. Unfortunately her mind was apparently not strong enough to call forth her new friend. Taking a deep breath, Marissa turned around and prepared for an afternoon with Shanes strange friend.

    One-hour later-

For the second time in Marissas young life she was seriously contemplating suicide. She knew she was being melodramatic, but dear God Jennys writing was depressing.
