    Chapter 7 – Ecstasy was my middle name, back in those high school days

    Tina immediately jumped into her car and drove to the hotel. She went straight to her ex lover’s room and knocked at the door so loud and heavily there was no way Bette could ignore it. The door opened and a desperate-looking, red-eyed Bette opened the door.

    “Elisabeth Jean Porter, you had absolutely no right of doing that!” Tina went straight to the point. “You are so,” Tina prodded Bette on the chest, “so fucking lucky that Elisabeth wasn’t home! What on earth were you thinking?”

    “I’m really sorry, Tee. I couldn’t hold myself. I just saw him standing there and he got the fucking life that should’ve been mine. He did everything I was supposed to do, and he’s so ungrateful. He doesn’t realise how special you are and I couldn’t stand it. It was out before I knew it. I’m sorry. I’ll leave if you want me to. I promised myself I wouldn’t leave LA without you, but I understand that under these circumstances -”

    “You’re not leaving again,” Tina said firmly. “You just… you can’t make it! But why on earth did you have to do that?” She just couldn’t understand where Bette’s thoughts must have been.

    Bette sighed. “I just… I saw him standing there and… something inside me just snapped. I was standing there, thinking that he was the guy that had gotten the life that should have been mine and he wasn’t even grateful to be with someone special like you. When I hear stories from you and the others… he’s such a moron and he doesn’t deserve to be with you, because he doesn’t treat you like he should. You are so soft and kind and loving, you’re so passionate and incredibly sexy and hot and he… he just takes it for granted that he married someone with all these things inside of her, he doesn’t seem to realise that there’s nobody like you. I’ve shut up for all those years, but now I couldn’t. I didn’t think anymore. I’m so sorry, I really am. I understand if I went out of line and I’m not good for Elisabeth when I can’t control -”
