“Alright, give it up. Come on, tell me what happened,” Alice sighed, crossing her arms. “Sulky, dismal Dana is no fun to hang out with.”

“What? You mean with Lara? Nothing happened,” Dana mumbled into the couch, where she was laying facedown.

“Uh huh. Sure. So, what, you’re still broken up?” Alice pressed. She walked over to the couch, pulling Dana’s legs up so she could sit down under them.

“Yup. She’s taking a job in San Francisco.”

“Wow. That what she came over here to tell you?” Alice asked, knitting her brow. She started to massage Dana’s legs gently.

“Well… she wanted to see if she could fix our relationship. I told her no. Mmm, that feels really good,” Dana groaned softly.

“Hmm, why’d you do that? You need to start using these legs more. We should do those morning runs you used to be crazy about.”

“I don’t want to have to get over the fact that she left when I needed her most. Besides, I don’t think we were soul mates,” Dana replied, flipping onto her back on the couch.

“Is that so?” Alice said calmly. Dana was trying to get Alice to look her in the eye, but she opted to focus on Dana’s legs.

    “Yeah.”

“What do you think about the, uh, running thing?”

“I don’t know. I don’t really feel like it,” Dana mumbled, frowning at the subject change.

“Come on! I’ll do it with you!” Alice exclaimed, grinning.

“Fine. As long as you promise one of these amazing massages afterwards,” Dana said, grinning back.

    “Sounds good.”

“So where were you today? You didn’t even warn me that Lara was here,” Dana pried.

“Oh. Sorry. I feel weird around her so I pretty much ran out of here. I was just hanging out with Shane,” Alice answered, biting her lip.

“Oh…” Dana mumbled. Alice looked up to see if Dana had caught her lie. Instead, it almost looked as if Dana was …jealous.

“Listen, I was going to bring you, but I knew you and Lara had some stuff to work out,” Alice hastily assured.

“Oh yeah, I knew that. Know that. I’m just sad that Shane never comes around here,” Dana said, trying a nonchalant tone. Her face had brightened up significantly, though.

    1. Aww dana you should have just kissed her against that wall! I don’t know whether I am romantic or just a perv… Anyway exciting post, I could feel the tension, hope it keeps up in the next. I’m still surprised and amazed how danish is kept alive and so well on here, makes me smile. PPS.

    2. Woah the best chapter you’ve written so far, omg drama drama drama.Alice is upset because she feels that Dana never realli loved her in the 1st place. And Danas upset because she wants Alice back…oh please ladies make up with one another after all that youve been through dont let that be the final say on the matter of being soul matesGreat update PPSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

    3. tunafish, excellent writing with the dialogue. It seemed so real as I could picture them talking. I am glad that D at least started to express her feelings. I can understand A’s resistance to the idea of getting back together. I hope Dana would not give up so easily either even though it would be a long road ahead. I love this story and this is an wonderful chapter. Thank you very much!!

    4. Great chapter. I loved all the dialog. So sweet of Alice to offer to run with Dana. It’s great that the two are communicating so openly and honestly with each other. The conversation at the end was angsty, but, long overdue — even if it did end with Alice running out. I think getting all that out will give them something to build on. They can’t stay mad at each other for long. Thanks, tunafish!
