    Don’t Give Up #20

I suggested to Tina she should relax whilst I busied myself with other tasks at hand. I could see the bemused look of what I was planning as a treat for us both; but still she refrained herself from asking and complied with my simple request. I requested Helena’s assistant for this huge task, I wondered if I was in over my head on this one.

Subconsciously I was falling, afraid to fail at the one thing I shouldn’t; parenting. Despite my underlying thoughts and worries, I wanted to insure Tina knew how much I had changed. I’m not sure if she truly realised the transformation I have under gone this past month or two. Do you ever feel sometimes everything is just out of grasp? Well suddenly this type of emotion was pulling me under. Slowly simmering below the surface were thoughts of what now could of been. Instead a reality check shows me how much my life has changed. Even though the best thing possible has come out of my stupidity, I still feel Tina could change her mind at any given second.

Helena arrived home with perfect timing in tow were the items i had asked her to pick up especially. I was still unsure if Tina would be hoping for much more than I had planned, either way my selfish streak was back i just wanted it to be about us tonight.

"Hey Bette." Helena was in an extremely good mood considering she had been slaving away at work all day.

"Hey Hels, so why do you seem overly happy considering you have been stuck at work all day?" I couldn’t help but smile as this was the first time I had seen Helena smile like this for a long while.

"Oh the usual, I love my job, I’ve got the children tomorrow over night and well Dylan has asked me to stay over tonight. So need I say more".

Her Smile was a sight to see, I wish my friend wore it more often.  My mind wondered to when was the last time Tina smiled because of something I did for her. Truth of the matter was i couldn’t remember. This only dampened my solemn mood that was already brewing.
