The Next Day…

Tina walked into The Planet and saw Alice, Dana, Carmen and Shane sitting at the regular table. She walked over and sat down.

“Hi, guys.” She said. Her friends greeted her.

“So, how was Paris?” Alice asked.

“Amazing…” Tina said with a dreamy look.

“Oh, I know that look. You’ve met someone! Right?” Carmen asked.

Tina looked at the Latina and smiled. “I did.”

“Cool.” Shane said.

“Is she hot? Is she French? Who is she?” Alice asked.

Tina bit her lip. “She is very hot and not French… She’s Bette Porter.”

Her friend’s eyes were as big as they could possibly be.

“No way.” Dana was the first one to speak.

“Way.” Tina said.

“How is she?” Shane asked.

“Very good. She has a six-year-old son, Yves. She has her own gallery and well, she’s recently divorced.”

“Wow, that’s great, not the divorce but you know. Wait, you didn’t hook up with her… again… right?” Dana asked.

Tina looked down with a naughty smile.

“No, Tina, come on!” Alice exclaimed. “Don’t you remember what she did to you?”

Tina looked up. “I do, Alice but we finally talked about it and I see that I was also a part of the cheating. We talked about the miscarriage. We talked about everything and nothing. We spend a lot of time together and she has changed. She is softer, more willing to give up control occasionally and much more willing to talk about her feelings. Judith and Edith also liked Yves but that is understandable. Yves is like the mini-Bette. He is so charming. He is going to break some hearts, I can tell you… Bette and I are a couple again, if you like it or not.”

Shane beamed. “I think it’s great. You guys belong together.”

“I’m with Shane, it’s great.” Carmen told her friend.

“I always liked the two of you together but just watch out that you don’t get hurt.” Dana said.

“I don’t like it. Bette just packed and left without one word instead of fighting for you. Also, she never told any of us where she went.” Alice said.

Tina sighed. “She did fight for me but it was pointless. I didn’t want to talk to her, I just ignored her. Her heart was so broken she just had to get away and she didn’t want to hear all the comments you guys would give her, she couldn’t handle it. Paris was a new beginning for her.”
