    Tibette beginning… ‘They felt as if they had entered another dimension the second they had recognized each other.’

    CHAPTER 15
     

     
    Bette was in shock.
     

    She had just stepped through the door of the University main building after taking a coffee with the Dean, when someone collided with her. She instantly held her arm out to steady the woman when… she found herself looking right into the hazel eyes that had haunted her days and nights ever since that fateful night.
     

    At first, she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her, but… no, those eyes, this face, this smile, she would have recognized them anywhere. It was her. The woman she couldn’t get out of her head. The woman she couldn’t stop dreaming about. The woman for whom she would do anything, since for her, she was learning the tango.
     

    Tina…
     

    She couldn’t move nor speak, she was transfixed.
     

    Tina was no better. She knew that she was going to see Bette again, but even so, nothing in the world could have prepared her for what she was feeling now. Her smile at the delightful surprise of bumping into Bette had been immediately followed by a rush of emotions induced by the brunette’s proximity. Just like the night of the wedding, she was drawn to the deep brown eyes and couldn’t tear her own away from them. Her heart was speeding at an alarming rate, and she knew that the inevitable blush that only Bette seemed to be able to generate had probably taken over her face already. The brunette had the most incredible effect on her, and in that moment she realized that there wasn’t much she could do about it.
     

    It took all of Tina’s power to pull herself out of her hypnotic trance, and trying to overcome her intense emotion, she exclaimed, faking astonishment,
     

    "Profes… Bette… Hi!… What a surprise!"
     

    Tina’s voice got the brunette out of her frozen state.
     

    "Tina…" She answered hoarsely trying to recover her voice. 
     

    "What are you doing here?" The blonde asked, smiling and trying to sound casual but unable to contain the excitement in her voice.
     

    "Oh, huh… I…" Bette’s vocal chords still wouldn’t cooperate, and she had to cough to clear her throat from the emotional lump blocking it.
     

    "I’m sorry…" She apologized with an embarrassed smile, which made Tina wonder if she had ever seen anything cuter in her life. 
     

    "I came to give a medical conference this afternoon here at UCSF." Bette said in one breath, finally recovering.
     

    "A conference, really? What a shame… Had I known, I would have been delighted to attend it…" Tina said tilting her head, making Bette’s heart race even faster.
     

    Hearing this from afar, the desk clerk looked at the blonde, raising an eyebrow.

    6. “Please feel free to scold me anytime, Professor Porter”… Ahem… Well, I’m sure there is no double-entendre here, right K ? LOL ! For a second, I thought this was slighty equivocal though… Hehehe ! Anyways… The chapter was beautiful, as usual. Amazingly, I found that I really loved this shy and sweet Bette, no matter how different she may be from the original character we know. She really is so cute when she’s smitten. I hope she hasn’t lost her smooth, warm and low voice…. As for Tina, Bette’s right, she really is very endearing ( I’m assuming the clumsy wink you were referring to was one with both eyes, right ? Hahaha ! So typical of Tina ! ), but she’s also very… Creative ! What a great couple ! I’m loving this and I can’t wait to find out what miraculous idea Tina is going to come up with to make Bette stay a little longer.

    10. I too am glad that no cheating will be within this story. I can’t wait for Tina’s grandfather to meet Bette. I have a feeling that he will approve of Bette much more so than he does Helena.
