    Bette and Lara heat up the dance floor. Oh…and remember Uta?

    The thumping bass penetrated Bette’s entire body. She took a deep breath and smiled. God, it was good to be alive. With the advent of a new job and a temporary truce with Tina, she felt more hopeful about the future than she had in months. Surrounded by women who were as close as family, she wanted nothing more than to celebrate.

    "Dance with me?" She turned and with a dazzling smile took hold of Lara’s slender wrist. Tugging gently she pulled a laughing Lara onto the floor. The rest of the group, including Alice, shouted encouragement.

    The two worked their way into the throng of bodies that crowded the floor and began to move to the beat. Bette was an exceptional dancer and Lara paused for a moment to observe the connection Bette seemed to have with the music. Grinning, she slowly began to match the movement of Bette’s body with an equally sensual dance. The pair circled one another with an ebb and flow that left an observer thinking the two bodies were controlled with one mind. The visual impact of the couple was not lost on the other dancers who were casting appreciative sidelong glances at the pair. The pale skin and auburn hair of Lara was a cool complement to Bette’s bronzed tone and dark tresses. Driven by the reaction around them, the two obligingly increased the sensuality of their movements, allowing a lingering touch to a hip here, a caress of a cheek there.

    "God, they’re fantastic together!" Carmen couldn’t seem to tear her eyes off the pair. "They’re like fire and ice."

    Alice watched the two, her heart dropping a little. She knew Lara had been equally engaged in their kiss earlier, but seeing the sudden sexual charge that seemed to emanate between the two on the dance floor she began to grow doubtful. She knew Bette’s charm was like a magnet to most women, and she could tell by the fire in the woman’s expression that Lara was suddenly squarely in her crosshairs. "What the fuck?" she whispered.

    "What’s that, Alice?" Carmen tilted her head towards Alice’s mouth. "You’ll have to speak up!"

    "I said, I can use a drink. Do you want anything?" Carmen shook her head and Alice turned to make her way to the bar. As she downed a tequila shot she felt a hand snake around her waist and a breathy whisper in her ear, "It’s been too long, Alice."

    2. Wow, after the action in the herb garden, I did not see this one coming–interesting twist and (hopefully?) a nice Lace set up, complete with jealously and angst–hot! They’ve got ’til Wednesday, right? ;) I have to admit I find Bette and Lara potentially together a bit weird but then again, I’m looking forward to seeing where you’re going with this. Can’t wait for the next update! Post soon! Love this story so far!

    4. Bette’s throwing her mack down. She is smooth and quick-witted. I mean, you are, b/c you wrote the words, and she’s just saying what you wrote. You get what I’m saying, right. B & L???? Has some possibilities, eh????

    5. You know I never thought of Lara and Bette together…but I actually think it’s sexy. I’m such a TiBette fan, but Lara has alot of the same qualities that Tina had. (at least the Tina from S1) This could be very nice…very, very nice. I can’t wait to read your next post to see where you take this.

    6. I guess Lara and Bette can be together if Alice is back with the vampire…but only til Tina sees them together and then we’ll see how it goes from there…okay?…lol

    8. I just caught up with this story. I really like the intensity of the sparks flying between Alice and Lara…well, for as long as it lasted. I was all getting into Lace and now…Alice and Uta, Bette and Lara? I’m hoping Utaand Bette are just a distraction. Just to make them (Lara and Alice) realize they really need to be together.

    10. Wow, Alice should have given Lara a chance to explain. Bette was pretty hot on the dance floor. Bette and Lara??? sounds like a good fling!
