Cries Of The Mass – Chapter 5 [*Edited*]
Previously:
“She always said that she was holding me back” Tina spoke quietly, “I never told her..”
“What, baby girl?” Kit was still holding her, “What didn’t you tell her?”
“She pushed me further than I’ve ever been. Before her there was nothing. She made me happier than I’ve ever been by far.” Tina continued, encouraged by Kit’s silent nodding, “I was speaking to her,” she admitted, “While she’s been sleeping. D-Do you..” she hesitated for a moment, “Do you think she can hear us?”
Kit looked at the hazel eyes staring back at her; she saw the hope, swamped with the exhausting terror.
“All I know is my sister would die for you. And that tells me if you asked her to come back, she is. Just give her time.”
Chapter 5:
Kit’s arms stayed firmly around the quiet blonde. It took minutes for her to realise Tina had cried herself to sleep. As she smiled down on the woman, she thought back. She’d always thought of Tina as family; the bond she’d shared with Bette served as a direct link to herself. She’d witnessed her sister’s transformation; she was happy and alive for the first time in years. She’d watched their bond deepen beyond reasonable comprehension. But in the final moments of screaming and pain, she’d also seen them both shatter. Unconsciously, she pulled Tina tighter to her chest, thinking of her sister’s initial betrayal.
Kit felt strangely connected to Tina; they’d both been cheated on by the loves they thought would last. They’d both felt themselves head down darker paths as results of their aches. After her own split with Angus, she’d experienced Bette’s overwhelming desire to reconcile the pair. Kit had known in these moments that her younger sister was pleading her own case just as much as his. During these times, there was a small part of her that was overcome with disgust and indignation for her sibling.
Now as her sister lay immobile, stricken by the binds of her injuries, Kit felt all resentment fly from her body. Life was too short to dwell on mistakes, and she’d be damned if she would let any of them forget it later. She suddenly felt compelled to speak to Angus. They’d been talking again recently and even joining forces occasionally to watch Angelica and now her urge to hear his voice pulled at her.

Nice AD. Tina cries out to Bette is very heartwarming and I’m sure will help Bette return to the present. Thanks for updating this story even though it was quite short (lol).
I really missed this story, so it’s great to see its return! I was intrigued by the parallels you drew between Kit and Tina in this chapter. I loved Tina’s loving words to Bette, and needless to say I’m delighted that Bette appears to be on the mend.
Keep Tina talking to her so she can guide her back home. Great update please continue and soon.
Oh, how happy you’ve made me. Two stories in two days. I’ve missed them all. Thanks so much….now wake Bette up…she’s got some making up to do. :) PPS!!
Jade, you are one hell of a writer. I’ve told you before, and I’ll tell you again. You move me, and you touch me so deep when I read your creativity. Thank you so very much for updating this story. I could just feel all of Tina’s pain when she was sharing outwardly her feelings, her shortcomings, her hopes, all of it. That bargaining was there for sure, whether subtle or not. I really enjoyed seeing Kit’s bond with Tina, for I always did feel they both shared something unique. Thanks again hun, and keep it all in perspective…. * wink *
Tina’s emotion is so real, so heartfelt. I love this story, thank you
So happy to see another chapter of the story, even though it is so painful to watch Tina trying her best to help Bette wake up to the hear and now and in a little while I think Bette will wake up and eventually remember hearing Tina talk to her confessing her love and feelings for Bette and wishing to have them back together as a family. Post when you can.
That was very heart wrenching. Knowing that Tina feels like she is losing the only person (besides Angelica) that means the world to her is heart breaking.
*sigh* I missed your words, my dear angeld… very much…Thank you, babe.
Wow! Tina’s words are very moving!
Come on Bette wake up, come back to Tina now.
My god this is so real. Thank you for this amazing depicting of the situation.
Most excellent chapter. Just the right tone of sadness w/o becoming too treacly. PPS.
That’s so overwhelming…and so beautiful…I don’t really know exactly how to explain it to you, but i’m just so overwhelmed by your talent…speechless really…pps
